Hoppy, and pine in the aroma, deep amber, small toffee head. Hops are the predominant taste, followed by some fine malt. Full bodied, well balanced, crispy. Fine example!

Buffalo Brewfest 04. Well, I went in to this fest with a dislike for the trend towards overhopped American pales, but I came away with an appreciation of the style after a couple of great examples, including this one. Dark orange pours, huge citrus hop nose. Lots more in the taste, just a tad thin I suppose. Overall, a very good beer from what seems like a pretty solid brewery.

Big aroma. Malty, hoppy, slightly alcoholic. Flavor is sweet but really well balanced with alcohol and awsome hoppiness. Nice.

The beauty of beer is that there is something for everyone. To me Hopdevil is world class, the best there is. Well, move over Hopdevil, Frostbite is that good. Great aroma, beautiful color, and head. Very creamy, smooth, and the taste is world class. Perhaps the best beer I’ve ever had.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2004 Draft at VT Brewers Fest - Copper/amber in color with an off white head. Aroma of hps and citrus with slight amount of malt mixed in. Flavor is definitely grapefruit/citrus hops with a distinct bitterness. Nicely bitter and piney on the finish. A little weak on the malt, but really a very good IPA. We wil meet again.

Growler from Halftime, NY: Hoppy fruity nose. Nice, not banging hoppiness - smooth in the end. Orange amber color, medium head, leaving laces. Nice one!

UPDATED: APR 30, 2007 Bottled:
Orange-y hops ignite a strong and lasting resinous, grassy bitterness...A hefty pale ale with seductive caramel malt girth and serious hop depth...Another one of those rich pints of American boldness...

On tap at the brewpub:
Hmmm...I seem to recall that the menu at the pub said it was 6.8%abv, which would be quite a change from the 5% we have listed here. Anyway, this proudly unfiltered strong Pale Ale/IPA hybrid presented lots of earthy hop goodness developing into orangey and resinous complexities. Great body with a touch of fruity caramel. Always a treat, although I still preferred the version brewed and bottled in Plattsburgh by a couple of points.

Mild orange citrus "C" hop aroma. Nice looking beer. Caramel coloured body with off-white head that lasts. Some light lace. Strong bitterness. A bit overbalanced towards the hops. Could use more malt character to support. Some orange citrus flavour noticeable also. Medium light body but slightly thin mouthfeel. On tap at TapNY festival.
