can8ianben (641), Pasadena, California, USA Apr 18, 2008 Mmm... a tasty IPA! Exactly what I think an IPA should be. Bold and bitter, with a fruity citrusy, piney punch. Deep orange amber in color with a frothy white head. Thick and syrupy, especially so considering the ABV.
RCL (1083), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Oct 5, 2008 Very nice IPA. Rich aroma mostly dominated by malts. Flavor has some more nice malts with a restrained burst of hops on the finish. Leans to the sweet side. yesyouam (369), Fairport, New York, USA Sep 8, 2008 Lake Placid IPA is a cloudy amber ale with some particles in it. It has a nice, dense, light beige head with great retention and it leaves thick crust on the glass. The aroma is very fresh! Citrus, pine and resin are up front, but there is a lurking sweetness in the nose. It is medium bodied and incredibly smooth and soft. The finish is clean and dry. So often, a beer this hoppy takes a ding on the mouth feel, but not this one. The flavor is very well balanced. It is a bold one-- reminds me of something from Stone. There is a resiny tone that centers the entire taste. There is a nice sweetness underneath and grapefruit peel is prominent. It is very difficult not to chug this beer. shadey (1343), Rochester, New York, USA Aug 24, 2008 On tap at the Brewpub. I was able to try this side by side with the English pale ale. In contrast this one has the sharp resiny hops that the brewer characterizes as their tribute to west coast hop heads. I think it works. A nice resiny hop presence that IS reminicent of west coast beers. There is also quite a bit of malt balance that allows this beer to double as a winter warmer. blipp (818), Grand Island, New York, USA Aug 23, 2008 Draft at Buffalo Brewfest. Pours orange with a white head. Sweet grapefruit aroma with a bit of pine. Hoppy, citric, floral flavor, well balanced with a nice lingering bitterness. Quite good. Beerded_one (1617), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 6, 2008 Sampled at 08 vt brewers fest. Pours a dark copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is piney with floral hops and some light citrus.
