MartinT (4307), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Apr 30, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Citrusy fruitiness and base malt sweetness quietly join in the well-built frame of this highly drinkable, yet forgettable Golden Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-Admirable lacing decorates the top of the hazy blond hues.
-A grainy dryness comprises most of the finish; a few more hops would have rendered more complexity and interest, that’s for sure.
-The body is round enough to teach macro lovers that a basic blond ale shouldn’t be as thin as those in the bottles they are used to drinking.
On tap at the brewpub. beerbuzzmontreal (2698), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 21, 2006 Clear pale gold pour with a ring of white lace. Mild aroma of citrus and honey. The flavor is boring, again citrus and honey, but at least the beer has a decent round body and smooth mouthfeel, the carbonation is prickly. jcwattsrugger (3811), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Aug 23, 2006 on tap-pours a with head with hazy yellow color. Aroma is sweet. Taste is fruit, sweet, grain, faint hops. Good carbonation. willblake (1925), Long Branch, New Jersey, USA Jul 21, 2005 07.13.05 Tap at brewpub. Hazed straw, big lacy shite head is even and slowly fading. Cereal aroma, somewhat ripe and fruity. Cereal flavor lingers. Overall not so exciting but well done for a standard brewpub golden. DYCSoccer17 (2009), Davis, California, USA Mar 8, 2005 On tap at brewpub. Slight citrus banana aroma to start with a graininess in the nose. Mildly hazy blonde color with a small white head. Tangy, carbonated with what appears to be a Saaz hoppinness. Notes of coriander and lemon. Sort of tastes like a wit. This was served a little too cold and has a bit much carbonation. Surely a beer for the masses.
