draft at Coles, black pour more schwarzbier looking than stout. lacking the fuller body and creaminess that it desires. lots of coffee notes, decent flavor, average mouthfeel. OK

Dark color and decent flavor. Ends a little more bitter than most milk stouts, but still has the coffee flavor to start.

A black beer with a white head. Roasted malts with good body, the bitterness is a bit high for a milk stout, more like a mild imperial.

Bottle. Lactic chocolate and light coffee aroma. Black brown with a moderate tan head. Roasty coffee, slightly sour lactic, chocolate, and ash flavor. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Six pack. Dark beige head and all that. Not really that sweet or creamy. Enough roast to fight away the sweetness and it tastes like coffee. Not black coffee, but maybe weak coffee. A tad watery.

Dark, tan head, roasty aroma. Sweet malt, hints of cocoa and coffee. Lingering finish with a bit of sourness and sweetness. Interesting.

Bottle. Pours a deep black with a fairly large tan head. Roast, cocoa and a touch of sweetness. Medium bodied, smooth with nice small carbonation. Roast and cocoa come through and a nice sweet smoothness from the lactose. A touch of tart roast, cocoa and plum. Tasty and easy drinking.

Pours dark brown-black with a minimal brown head. Smells of coffee. licorice. Taste is sweet and mildly bitter - light licorice, toasted nuts, bread, earthy hops.

Great stout on a cold winter night. Smooth and mellow. Nice aftertaste with an appropriate amount of sweetness.

On tap at Tap and Mallet. Nice dark pour with a one finger tan head. Little lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Flavor was mostly coffee and roasted malts, some chocolate. Some bitterness. Body was thinner than expected. still good.
