Apr 5, 2006 Growler shared with my brother, DYCSoccer17. Opaque black pour with medium tan head, very nice looking beer. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee, mostly coffee. Coffee, roasted, burnt malt flavors. Acidic tones as well, mouthfeel is too thin. This lacks the creaminess that would make it really good...needs more body.

Mar 20, 2006 Growler purchased at the brewery in Plattsburgh, NY. Dark chocolate, roasted nose with some mild coffee-like components. Nice aroma. Opaque black color with a nice dark tan head. Beautiful. Very roasted, dry, bitter burnt flavor to start. Turns a bit hoppy to finish with grapefruity notes. Perhaps this is hopped with Cascades? There is also a fair amount of coffee flavors in the finish. This beer was a bit too dry for me and slightly disappointing.
