COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer, this English Strong Ale has developed an almost cult-like following in the Adirondacks and greater Northeast. Deep garnet red in color, Ubu weighs in at 7% alcohol by volume (ABV) but is known for its fantastic taste. Ubu Ale has received two people’s choice awards at the Saratoga BrewFest and was chosen one of the top 365 beers in the world by the Beer-A-Day calendar.

Dark brown and a little bit muddy. There is only a thin wisp of head. The aroma is malty with some dark fruit accents mimicking English yeast, Fuller’s wouldn’t actually surprise me at all. There are caramel notes in the malt, balanced by light plums and dark fruit. The sweetness is balanced slightly by the high alcohol and a lightly chocolatey character. Good ale when I had it years ago, and now it tastes a little old school but still good ale.

Pours a deep brown with a nice dense head. Quite flavorful with a touch of raisins, toffee and a light bittering. Admittedly smooth and almost crisp, not the norm for an English Strong. Nicely put together.

Thick mahogany body with a thin toasted caramel colored head. Nut caramel and toffee malting oozes off the body, soon leading to flavors of sharp brown malt, caramel nut, and some alcohol.
