Picked up a 6 pack at a local beer distributor. Almost like a lightweight stout, this beer has a deep chocolaty smokey flavor. Goes down effortlessly with little to no aftertaste. A unique and delicious beer.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small but thick head. The aroma is toasted malt with little hops. The flavor and aftertaste is slightly sour and thin. Ok overall

Dark brown pour with a dense, foamy head. Big time roasted malt aromas and some earthy hops. Flavor is straight-forward malty sweetness. For a strong ale this is quite weak but overall it’s highly drinkable.

Pours a deep brown with a nice dense head. Quite flavorful with a touch of raisins, toffee and a light bittering. Admittedly smooth and almost crisp, not the norm for an English Strong. Nicely put together.

Dark brown with reddish/amber hues and a small tan head that quickly dissipates. Faint aroma of roasted malt. Medium bodied with good mix of chocolate and roasted malt nuttiness. Underlying hop flavors are also apparent. This one was a nice surprise.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2006 Oct. 3, 2005 - 12 oz. bottle. A hearty Autumn/Winter brew. Sweet flavor is of red wine, smoke, fruit -- balanced nicely by a strong hop presence. The higher ABV is noticeable, but warms without overpowering the brew. Will be having this one again over the Winter, I’m sure. Re-rate on Dec. 29, 2006: Bumped up the aroma score from "4" to "7". This is definitely more enjoyable in a Trappist glass.

Draft. 7% ABV was kicking. A deep garnet red in color with a hint of fruit, wine like. Very nice. Warm taste,

A nice browner brown ale, just enough bitterness to even it out, and a slight hint of chocolate maltiness

12 oz. Pours black with dark red highlights. Small-ish white head. Smells like London. Tastes like London. Really like the complexity of flavors. More depth than most. I’m really surprised that this beer came from a semi-local brewery. Will enjoy again!

This had a beautifully dark red color to it, with a thick tan head. It had a hint of ginger and chocolate in both its aroma and taste.
