3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Beauty of a pour into a regular pint glass, with a light tan head standing up a bit over the top of the glass. Color is deep brown, almost black. Aroma is roasty, malty, with notes even bordering on rich, roasted meat dishes. Flavor is pretty complex, ranging from burnt toast to alcohol to dry malt to dark fruits. Finish is pretty long. Palate is medium to sticky-thick. Good beer; would love to pair with a hearty beef stew or meat and potatoes type dish.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with red highlights and thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, burnt nuts, burnt chocolate, and dark fruits. Has a bit of a metallic taste. Dark fruits and burnt everything. A touch of bitterness. Basement musk. Too light bodied for a strong ale. Was hoping for more everything and less burnt everything.

on tap at greylodge - dark dark red color - like burnt copper. aroma is all malt - no discernable hop aroma. flavor is big and thick, but not syrupy or sickly sweet. mostly malt with caramel flavors. enjoyable, but one was enough for me.

12oz bottle poured int a Trappist glass. LPUA pours surprisingly dark. It is deep mahogany with pulp. The head is thin and soapy looking with large bubbles. The aroma consists of toffee, malt and a faint touch of fruity sweetness. The body on this beer is another surprise. Itís heavy, falling just under a porter. It is very smooth with a small carbonation bite at the end. The flavor is malty and reminiscent of flat cola... but not in a bad way... if that makes any sense.

12 oz. Pours black with dark red highlights. Small-ish white head. Smells like London. Tastes like London. Really like the complexity of flavors. More depth than most. Iím really surprised that this beer came from a semi-local brewery. Will enjoy again!

Poured from the bottle with a slight tan head which left a thin lacing on the glass. It was dark brown in color with a malty nose. This is a very nice and tasty beer. Most suitable for the cold fall and winter months, as it is a rich, thick and warming beer.

Dark brown pour with a dense, foamy head. Big time roasted malt aromas and some earthy hops. Flavor is straight-forward malty sweetness. For a strong ale this is quite weak but overall itís highly drinkable.
