3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice browner brown ale, just enough bitterness to even it out, and a slight hint of chocolate maltiness

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
This had a beautifully dark red color to it, with a thick tan head. It had a hint of ginger and chocolate in both its aroma and taste.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle. Pours a deep ruby red/brown color with a slightly off white head that settles to a film. Aroma is mostly malt, roasted malt/burnt caramel, some alcohol and a touch of hops. Taste carries some of the caramel/malt aroma with it. I get a little bit of a roasted malt taste as well. I think it could use a bit more body to it, it seems a little watery. Finish carries more of a pronounced roastedness to it.

Reddish brown color with hints of coffee and caramel and even a little bit of chocolate. it is a great after dinner beer and has a very complex palette the only problem is you donít want to drink more then one with this ABV %!!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A tasty English strong. Spicy on the palate the beer was smooth throughout the drink. I can see where people really dig this beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The Ubu is arguably Lake Placidís finest offering. Itís quite dark and malty. The taste has a slight hint of smokiness and coffee like a porter, but retains the touch of bitterness that an ale of this nature should have. Finishes very crisply, refreshes the palate, the body, and the mind. A fine fine brew.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
out of bottle this was a dissappointment. Little malt flavor even when served
at correct temperature. Very thin. Dark red color not matched by depth of flavor.
On tap my recollections of this brew more positive.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a medium off-white/light brown head. Aroma is toasty malt and a lot of raisin, smells Belgian. Taste is mild sweet, medium bitter, with a good amount of alcohol for 7%. Finish is dry. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. An ok beer.
