Pigfoot (2222), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Nov 3, 2004 This presented with an important caveat. Beermatrix had had it afresh, when cherries were present in a truer form, and this growler is from a version using a cherry extract.
Appearance: puzzling, at first. Why so yellow, if cherries are involved? See above. Hazy plae gold, small, vanishing head.
Nose is rather good, though, sweet, flowery, honeyish, and fruity, bearing the distinctive mark of cherry, without, um, really having it. Sweet cherry is the predominant association, with a hit of sour on the side, plus melon, peach, and more.
Light mouthfeel, low hops, strong malt.
Becomes very thin before long, and flavor begins to fade. Too bad, this could’ve been something else, and according to bm, it was once.
