3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice pour of a ruby red with a touch of gold. Small off white head. Aroma is strange but fascinating. I really couldn’t put my finger on it but it was some combination of vanilla and non sweet caramel and cherry. Flavor is neutral mostly but slightly sweet. Mouthfeel is light and lacking a bite. An alright brew.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Might have gotten an older bottle of this beer. I found the hop profile to be quite stunted, and although I could tell there was a blend of hops in the beer, it felt muddled and lacked the full hop character that I would expect from an American Amber. A beautiful pour though, with nice ruby-garnet notes and dense white head.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from HogWildLiquor. Thanks!! Pours a dark reddish brown color with short lived beige head. Smell is a bit odd with red ale like malt, and some sourness and maybe darker almost roasty malt. Flavor is bland, dusty, and odd. Not really full flavored or particularly good at all. Some tea like notes, bland malt, low bitterness, and pretty watery. Thin body and very low carbonation. Not very enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very deep red color with a thin, frothy, white head. Rather sweet at first taste with noticeable hops and slightly dry flavor. Also tasted some caramel, malts, and some nuts. Quite good for a red.

Bottle extra in a trade. Pours a red body with a white head. Sweet malty caramel, light fruit orange and cherry. Spices decent offering with rye in the finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted 9/24/08. 12oz bottle. Thanks Keir! Filtered with a ruby amber hue. Medium ring of bone white head. Grainy malts aromas. Mildly soapy. Medium bodied with bright malts. Slightly spicy with a good dose of hops. Finish is lingering with cocoa malts and piney hops. Earthy hop characters. Good moderate malt roast. Tart yet sweet. Good rolling palate with a intermixed juxtaposition of sweet and bitter. Mildly cloying finish. Good caramel malts. Good woody, piney hops. Slight graham cracker and mild cola note in the malt profile. Very tasty and hoppy Red!

This one was dark copper in color with a short lasting head that I sampled at the Chocolate Moose in Ely, Mn. Malty with a nutty roastiness and sweet coffe. Hops were barely noticeable. You could drink a lot of this.

Poured gold copper color with 1 finger head. (not very red) Nose is malty and floral. Sweet malt taste then floral hops. Flowery and mildly bitter finish. Not a bad beer but not what I was expecting in a red ale.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very hazy amber brown with very little head. The aroma is surprisingly present. Aromas are of malts and roasted nuts. Flavor is definite malts and nuts with sweet coffee and dark chocolate undertones. Surprising amount of flavor for a red.

Hazy deep reddish brown color. Wow, this red has some bite! Nice toasty roasted malts, a bit of dark chocolate and coffee, and a dry hop backbone. Medium bodied. I really wasn’t expecting much from this beer, as most "red" beers are pretty weak, but this is a decent surprise.
