3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
I was quite surprised as I didnít expect much out of this beer. My favorite aroma of roasted coffee. Nice dark color that left my mouth watering. Detected a hint of soy sauce and chocolate in the flavor. Although the flavor lasted a nice long time, it left a sticky feeling in my mouth which I wasnít a huge fan of. But like any other stout I liked it and will most likely have it again.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Fresh aroma of oats, malts, and even a hint of soy sauce. Creamy head dissipated quickly and left lacing across the interior of the glass. Oily black in color with a hint of crimson in the light, this beer has a robust mouth feel, nicely balanced with a sharp effervescence. Roated toasty malt flavor finishes clean.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep oily dark brown pour, with a hint of ruby on the edges. Thin and very creamy light brown head. Lacing is quality. Aromas of sea salt, grass, and oats. Flavor is very rich, yet bright and creamy on the end. Very oaty, with lots of chocolate and swiss almonds. There are some light coffee notes. Finishes with some of the salt and leaves a tangy, slightly burnt aftertaste. Palate is watery, but maintains some thickness. Quite good for the style!

Letís skip to the good parts, we all know what a stout looks like. Olive-oily aroma with a certain tartness to it - yogurt? Thatís of course alongside the expected roast chocolate malt. NIcely substantial flavor, they didnít wimp out on this one. Chocolate chip malt makes up the base of the flavor but thatís quickly overcome by dry coffee beans and another, more cirtusy, tartness. Smooth, round mouthfeel. A midwestern oatmeal stout with character? I thought only the Floydís could do that!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
pours a nice dark color w/ a nice tan head that laced well but dissapated quickly. Smelled of semmisweet chocolate, roasted malts, and a tiny touch of hops. palate is lightly carbonated w/ a good body but not much creaminess. The flavor was a weak coffee, the semisweet chocolate I smelled, and a dry finish. A pretty good stout, but not much of an oatmeal as I had expected.

Smells like toasted homemade bread with wheat germ and peanut butter on it. Flavor adds some semisweet chocolate chips on a creamy and not-too-thick palate. Sir Duluth, I salute you.

Thanks to slikwily for this brew. Pours jet black with some mahagony hints near the glass edge and sports an averaged sized light brown creamy head. Some spotty lacing. Aroma is mixture of dark roasted coffee and chocolate with malt and a hop nose. Initial flavor is warm dark roasted coffee with a slighlty burnt maltiness. The flavor finishes hoppy and dry. Dark and full-bodied palate.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
I donít really like this - nor do I like dark roasted coffee, which it seems as if they threw some in for flavoring (?). However, Iíll attempt to be objective despite my personal penchants. Aroma is quite classic - this is what people would experience in the mid 1800ís (Iíve drunk classic beers from that era). Very dark in color but thin; little head or lacing. Flavor is ... what can I say, burnt. Body and carbonation are ok. The high point is that Iím able to chug it down and get a good buzz -- the "hidden" alcohol figure is apparently rather high.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark rich black/brown with thick head that recedes quickly. Nice nose of roasted malts and a faint burnt quality. Heavy mouthfeel with a lighter fiinish as a sour quality cleans the palate. Light chocolate, deep roasted malt, and coffee flavors. Not bad though a bit lighter than I might hope for.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
I had this one at Old Chicago. It poured very very dark, almost black. The head was a nice creamy brown colour. It had a pleasntly roasted aroma of coffe and chocolate. The aroma really sets you up for the flavour. It is roasty, midley bitter with some hints of chocolate. Overall i thought this was a bitter thinner than it should have been. I thourghly enjoyed it despite that fact.
