2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours black with loads of light tan head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate with something a bit herbal. Taste is light bitter, follows aroma. Light bodied with a creamy but very thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Possibly an old or infected bottle. Something just doesn’t seem right with this one.

6/13/13. 12oz bottle tick thanks to hoffBRO! Deep brown pour, not quite black, with a decent khaki head. Light roasted malts, chocolate, touches of coffee, and a bit of an offness. The flavor follows with roast, chocolate, a bit of fruitiness and acidity. Not overly offensive.

Bottle thanks to adnielsen? Nice thick aroma, looks dandy, but let down a little on the taste. A bit sweeter than it could be. Not bad enough to pour down the sink though

Bottle @ Greg’s house picked up in the Midwest. Pours a deep brown black appearance with a light brown head. Cookie, caramel, chocolate, butterscotch aroma. A little buttery, almond, somewhat roasty, chocolates caramel flavor. Didn’t like this one so much.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
A pretty decent oatmeal stout and a better beer in general than the only other Superior beer I’ve had: the Koelsch. Nice slick mouthfeel. Very roasty with a coffee aroma. Winchell brought this back with him from MN.

March 8, 2013 - free sample from bottle at AV. Dark brown pour with nice tan head. Roasted malt and chocolate in aroma and taste. Odd that I seemed to like this better than the oaked version at Winterfest. Maybe the other amazing beers I had that night had something to do with it.

Tap. Aroma of chocolate, cofffee and oats. Taste is slightly sweet with a smooth creamy mouthfeel. Fits the bill of a sweet stout in my mind.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained light beige head, over a claear, dark brown (SRM 35) body....nose is primarily chocolate, cocoa, hints of toffee/caramel......taste is chocolate, cocoa, light toffee/caramel, finishing slightly sweet with hints of bitterness....mouth feel medium, slightly creamy, carbonation adds light spritz. The bottle’s label indicates this is an Oatmeal Stout. It has a very light mouth feel for an Oatmeal Stout and it is not as creamy as it should be. If this is a Sweet Stout it should have a slightly higher sense of sweetness. Either way this is a pleasant enough beverage and is quite drinkable. BJCP 7/3/13/4/7
