Bottle pour. I appreciate the hops here with this darker brew that isn’t dwarfed by the malt

12oz bottle from theisti. Pours a very slightly hazed orangish/tan golden with smaller dense white head. Very subtle nose, more forward on the malt with the hops just adding a bit of orange sweetness. Touch of bitter astringency up front, light pine and citrus, definitely get the lightly toasted english malt character. Different take on an american pale and fairly enjoyable. Thanks Tim.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a bit of musty citrus with some grapefruit bitterness with a hint of light earthy grains. Flavor begins with a nice hop combination of bitter pine and grapefruit that mellows to more of a citrus note with a light grain backbone.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2011 Date: July 1, 2011 Mode: Draft Source: Grandma’s Saloon and Grill, Duluth, MN Appearance: Translucent golden color with thin head Aroma: Faint hoppy smell Flavor: Starts with a slight malty taste and finishes with a mild hoppy taste Other: First time trying something from Lake Superior and I was not overly impressed. I was shocked to see the relatively high rating on this one, but maybe I got a bad batch.

Pours a slightly hazy golden amber/orange color with a very thin off-white head that quickly dissipates leaving no lacing. Bland aroma with slight earthy hops, subtle pale malt, nut and grass notes. Decently balanced and not too watered down with nutty/caramel maltiness balanced by subtle earthy/grassy hop flavor. Dry finish.
