4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Comes out of the bottle a rich, warm sable with a thick and fairly persistent dark tan head. Smoky aroma has firm tones of quality coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, burnt hops and licorice. Flavor delights with notes of chocolate, coffee, roast malt, caramel and licorice plus subtle earthy and nutty hints. It is a bit sweet, but not cloying. Thick, smooth texture is none too fizzy, but still leaves a nice tingle. Very satisfying and lip-smacking. Grab a few since this is a limited edition.

12 ounce bottle. Opaque black liquid topped by a small tan head that dissipates very quickly. Aroma of rich roasted malt, chocolate liqueur and dark cherries. Intense bittersweet dark chocolate flavor with notes of sour cherries and port wine. A nice sipping beer that has a smoothness and mild complexity. Finish is somewhat dry and bitter with peppery notes.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap. Very dark pour with brown head. Smells of chocolate and roasted malts. Tastes of the same. The only thing about this beer is it is more watery than I would want. Decent but would be better if it was thicker.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle: pours an opaque obsidian with a spotty-lacing beige head. Has a mild, slightly chocolatey nose with some black cherry and vanilla notes along with some ash. Starts with pretty good fullness and light effervescence with a chewy sweet dark caramel maltiness and good cherry and vanilla complexity that comes out as it warms. Finishes drier and smoky. Pretty unique and should age well.
