| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2004 Dark brown color with a medium head. Aroma has some caramel and malt hints. The flavor has plenty more of those two and is much sweeter than what I expected for a bock. Also a tad thin. Not bad, not great. Vac (2394), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 13, 2004 This bock pours with a deep mohogany body topped by a thin to medium thick head with decent lacing. The aroma is dairly nice. It’s sweet, malty and caramelly with a nice nuttiness and a hoppy background. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty with a sourness and a touch of fruit. Seems a little thin for a bock. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 23, 2004 Clear dark amber copper color with a thin, firm, dusted brown head. Soft, supple, clean, sweet bready malt nose with touches of brown sugar and molasses. Bold taste, firm grabbing sweet bready malt base thats lightly chewy with a light drying tang that keeps a nice sweet coating in the mouth. Bits of herbalness in a very light hopping sneak through nearer the finish. Close to full body, smooth and clean with a very present sweet tang coating the palate leaving some chewy, nearly cloying effects across the entire tongue. I usually don't enjoy the regular bocks due to having accustomedized my tastes towards the more hefty doppels. That said, this is a pretty straight up hefty bock that I can finally put some trust in for the style. A fine and tasty lager bock beer by Lakefront.
