Pours brown with thin tan head. Nose is malty with mild cherries and roasted, caramelly notes. Flavor is sweet and malty, lip smacky. Slight undertones of roasted chocolate. Finishes with nice sticky sweetness.

Bottle:   Darker shade of caramel, slight orange hue, moderate frothy off-white head, nice lacing.   Malty nose, pale apple fruit skin, slight caramel and breadiness.   Bready and nutty on the tongue, mild sweetness, and oddly enough very faint woodiness.   Malty caramel sweetness on the backside.   Not as heavy or bready as others, which I like.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Sweet malty finish, a little nutty, slightly bready.   Fairly nice for a Dunkler Bock.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy amber with a short-lived off-white head and crazy carbonation. Aroma is of fermented apple juice and hint of peppery hops. Body is medium and tangy. Taste is caramel malt and peppery hops. Finish is long and spicy. There is something wrong with this bottle.

Bottle thanks to John. Pours reddish amber with off white head. Nose/taste of bready malt, caramel, toffee and light fruit. Finishes dry bready caramel. Lighter bodied.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 9/23/12

Aroma: The nose is fairly sweet, doughy, some toffee/caramel, and nutty notes
Appearance: It pours an unclear dark reddish color withg a smalle head and light lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same, leans sweet, toffee mostly, and not much hop presence
Palate: The body is light-medium, it feels somewhat sticky, with a short duration
Overall Impression: This is a decent bready and malty beer, but nothing exciting in my opinion. I certainly wouldn’t rush out for it again.

Brown sugar sweetness is a bit overwhelming. Next to no head, light reddish brown. Not much carbonation. Absence of hop presence.

Poured from bottle. Faint aroma of bourbon and vanilla ice cream. Looks like root beer soda, head runs away fast. Flavors of toasted malt, molasses with hints of banana, oak, smoke and bourbon. Could use more carbonation. Good stuff - could be great with some tweaking.

Not bad for the style, but still nothing too special in this guy. Sweet, malty, and fairly drinkable.

Bottle- Pours a dark bronze color with a decent head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, some caramel sweetness and bit of spice. Flavor of roasted malt with caramel sweetness and bit of vanilla. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly medium body, smooth and somewhat creamy. As it warmed, it seemed to become more robust. Nice beer, quite good for the style. Worth visiting again when I get a chance.

Bottle from Woodman’s in the Falls. Cellar aged for possibly 6 months, mostly by accident. Pours a clear brownish-orange with an off-white head. A bit of lacing. Aroma has sweet caramel and hints of spices with some dark fruit. Taste is very sweet caramel, grapes and a hint of chocolate. Finish is very sweet, about medium length and fairly dry. I loved this style a while back, and thought this had (then) been a solid representation of it. I may have let it sit too long, or may have been incorrect.
