COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pure Milwaukee Genius Series 1: Made with three styles of fresh American hops and fruity ale yeast that requires greater fermentation, it finishes with a dark amber appearance, spicy hop flavor and bold, malty backbone. The punch this potent brew packs reminds us all that when you want to make a point, you’re better off making a statement.

nearly clear brown pour with a 1 finger, creamy beige head. Aroma is mostly caramel and toffee, with a little sweet citrus and herbal hops thrown in, surprisingly weak aroma. Flavor is roast, chocolate, molasses, licorice, some dark fruits, earthy leaves, nutty notes and citrus. Medium body with a creamy to syrupy feel, light, but blanketing and pretty sharp carbonation and dry finish, with a lingering prickly carbonation and a sort of tree bark-like astringency. Good stuff overall, but the aroma being so weak brings it down a peg. A bit weird, though. I think if somebody were trying to make a fruitier Dubbel using American-style ingredients they might come up with something like this.

A fairly mundane offering from Lakefront, I was expecting more. Pours a dark amber color, but not a whole lot going on in the aroma department. On the palate there is some spice and a little hop resin.

(Bottle). Minimally filtered light brown appearance with thick head and lacing. Flavor of alcohol mixed with malt. This one falls short from this brewer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Willy St Coop. Pours a reddish brown with a tan head. Very floral of apricot and citrus. Some candied sugared aroma as well. Taste is floral and juicy with a strong caramel, malt backbone. Slightly bitter on the finish with some alcohol. Slightly warming. This is a very enjoyable beer, I wish this came in more than sets of four. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle - tan colored fair size head, murky dark brown color, sweet dark fruit and malty aroma and flavor, good fruity hop balance though, almost reminds me of a Belgian dubbel style ale - very good overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Pacific Liquor: I was a little hesitant about this beer until I saw the ABV, and only then did I think this might actually taste good. Created a thick pillow of fluffy foamed head while the color was a glowing brown hue. This must be an old bottle because there is so much sediment floating the liquid was completely opaque. There was some scent of dead yeast in the aroma which I have started to really dislike, but there is a background of maple syrup, powdered sugar, and cinnamon and reminds me a lot of the French toast I make. The flavor is thick with molasses syrup and has a sticky residue in the palate. The malts are extremely sweet while the hops are in perfect balance and allow the malt to dominate the profile of this American strong.

Bottle. Murky dark rust colored pour with a forth of tan foam. Aroma is heavy sweet malt with buttery caramel, pine, and slight hop bitterness. Taste is heavy sweet malt with raisin and light char over pine and bitterness. Mouthfeel is even and surprisingly not too heavy. Decent malt heavy strong ale with complimentary hops.

Bottle. Nutty caramel malt, light creamy chocolate, and very light hoppy aroma. Clear mahogany with a large tan head. Roasty creamy caramel malt, light astringent citrusy/grassy hops flavor. Medium creamy body, soft carbonation. Quite nice.
