Commercial Description:
This recipe is a true craft ale brewed with only water, yeast, hops and malted barley, in keeping with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. We have designed it with a vibrant golden amber hue and a refreshing body. The mild addition of Kent Golding hops balances the generous amounts of caramel malts to give it a malty rather than a bitter finish. A special strain of California Ale Yeast gives the brew a slight hint of fruity aroma.

Not my favorite, but I don’t regret the time I’ve spent with Lakefront’s Cattail Ale. It’s sweet, smooth and fruit-filled, bordering party lines created from the closely related pale ale category.

Bottle Pours a cloudy orange amber with a lot of carbonated fizzy action but no head or lacing. At all. Aromas a fruity like apple, appricot and pears. Flavors are yeasty, breadish and woody. Feel is thin watery and quite lively. Aftertaste is gone before you know it. Not unpleasant and would have been better much colder. Still, not unpleasant and good with my lunch. Thanks to MrFacto for this sample from the upper midwest.

i figured this was a pale ale of some sort, it looked kind of like one....i was proved wrong when its aroma was pungent fruity (apple and pear) and almost belgian-like; perhaps some diacetyl. both flavor and aroma made it feel more like a lager than an ale. tasted a little skunky, definitely some diacetyl. definitely an interesting beer, one i would give another shot.

Pours and smells like a BMC, this is not a good start.... Lots of aroma, something sweet creeps in as well. Taste is somewhat bitter, and thin. Sweet with a bitter complexity to it. Not a fan of this one.. a little too much like BMC for me...

Not too bad. I had been drinking Milwaukee’s Best Light all night so trying this one was a pleasant change of scenery. i just remember it not having too much taste. But what taste it had wasn’t bad, but wasn’t really good. I would probably try it again if somebody offered it to me.

Looks, smells and tastes like bitter Bud, with a little more body and a hint of grain - not very good at all.

Had this one on tap at Hooligans in Miwaukee. It was so good, that I drank about 4 before I moved on to the next one. Not a lot of bubbles in this one. Very little head. It had a unique taste that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. Almost tasted "ashy". Very very nice.

Uh, sort of skunky. Light color, fizzy feel. Very, very dry at the end, which made it difficult to continue to consume. That’s about it, really.
