Commercial Description:
This recipe is a true craft ale brewed with only water, yeast, hops and malted barley, in keeping with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. We have designed it with a vibrant golden amber hue and a refreshing body. The mild addition of Kent Golding hops balances the generous amounts of caramel malts to give it a malty rather than a bitter finish. A special strain of California Ale Yeast gives the brew a slight hint of fruity aroma.

A decent take on the style, albeit very mild...ahem. It’s just very light and smooth on the palate. A light biscuity texture with a bit of a sweet honey and fruity hop notes in the finish. Quite sessionable, but not very memorable.

Had this from a mix 12-pack I picked up while visiting Milwaukee. A solid ale, but nothing special by any means.

Bottle. Pours a lightly hazy gold with small white head. Aroma is malty, lightly of caramel. Flavor is pleasantly malty but light overall with just a hint of bitter hops. Finish is short and clean. Light and watery on the palate. Pretty thin but tasty and easy drinking.

Lightish golden/amber color, short white head. Very light aromas of fruit, herbal/floral hops. Juicy maltiness and a substantial body. Manages a nice balance making this very drinkable.

A light gold colored body with a large bubbled white head. The aroma is floral with bread crust and some lemon zest. The taste has some light soda water quality with old lime flavoring. There is also a little bit of a sourness in the finish. This is a decent mild, but needs some more balance to the citrus taste.

With an intriguing name, but unpleasing bottle art of a feral cat hunting a red-winged blackbird in a cattail marsh, I poured my first Lakefront ale. Alas, I was profoundly disappointed by the bland nature of this brew. Had a very faint aroma upon opening, and poured a dark straw/amber color, with a thin white head. Flavor was kind of sour, with a very light hops kick. Built for session consumption, I'll assume. I can only hope my Lakefront foray takes me to wilder territory...

Bottle pours a slightly hazy yellow amber with a fizzy head and no lace. The aroma is bread like and flowery nose. The flavor is bread like, sweet in the middle, sour fruit in the finish, and somewhat disjoint. The palate is thin and fizzy. Overall, not one of the better efforts I know this brewer can produce.

Golden pour with a small white head. Aroma of grass and hay. Flavor is somewhat soapy up-front but it does fade to a more bisquit flavor toward the middle. Goldings lend a cardboardish flavor towards the finish which isn’t really surprising or unpleasant. OK beer.
