Commercial Description:
An American style fruit beer made with Wisconsin’s Door County cooking cherries and lager yeast. The tartness of the cherry is balanced with the sweetness from the 2-row barley and the flavoring of Mt. Hood hops.

Tried some of this at the 3 sons sampling in Pittsburgh. Poured a light pinkish amber color with white pink head. Aroma all cherries. Flavor a bit sour and watery. Overal, not a fan. Would not buy.

Bottle from State Line. This one worked for me, with a hazy deep coppery magentaish body and 3-fingers of light pinkish head. Aroma was cherry, pale malt, some hopcitrus. The taste was semi-sweet to sweet, with the cherry flavor being natural and not phony tasting, with well balanced pale malt and hopcitrus. Fairly rich palate. I’d buy this again by the case without hesitation.

I thought this was a really nice beer, I was worried it was going to be sweet and cloying. This beer has a nice tart cherry flavor, and while it’s not subtle, most definatly a fruit beer, the cherry is nice and works with the beer well to not be some Wonka fruity syrup concoction. Pours a light ruby color with a soft white head. I thought this was a well done fruit lager.

Bottle: Poure with an energetic fizziness that settled into a 1/4-inch firm cover of tight bubbles over an orange-reddish body. The aroma is sour and medicinal. If you like sour cherries, you’ll like this beer. Their presence is quite evident in this puckeringly tart brew. Fun beer on a crisp fall afternoon watching football. (#3148, 10/21/2007)

Had this beer on 8/19/2003. Aroma is a wine like scent with a hint of cherry. Color is a bright crisp amber with very bubbly carbonation and a nice fine head. Taste is smooth and mild. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down smooth with an almost creamy feel. This smoothness sharpens a bit as the finish comes on with a mildly tart cherry flavor complemented by a nice malt sweetness and a faint hop bitterness. Its a very well balanced beer and is a perfect summer time brew.

12oz bottle. Reddish orange color. Less acidic than a Belgian cherry beer. Very mellow overall, with a great natural cherry flavor present throughout. Well balanced with some malt and hops coming through as well.

Hazy pink coral body with a small offpink head. Aroma of toasted grain and tart cherries. Taste follows suit with a hint of spicy hops. A mediocre fruit beer but to its credit it’s doesn’t taste artificial or sweetened.

Mellow taste, not quite as good as other cherry lagers, still quite refreshing.
