37steel (186), St. Charles, Illinois, USA Sep 29, 2007 Bottle. Beautiful reddish orange with a thin pinkish head. Good lacing. Very, very faint cherry aroma. Nice sour cherry flavor. Very sour throughout. Clean finish. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 22, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours a light amber with a small white head. Aromaof wheat, malts, and cherries. Flavor is light caramel, cherries, hops and a hint of citrus with a dry finish. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 21, 2007 12oz bottle. Tomato red body, touches of pink on the outer edges. Small off white head, quickly fades and attempts some lacing but fails. Nose is very muted - cherry is there, but you really have to try for it. Otherwise grains and malts is all there is. Flavor is a bit better, tart cherries that get more pronounced as the beer warms, along with some malt sweetness and dough. Thin bodied. Mouthfeel is grainy, dry, champagne like body. There is an annoying chalky texture at the very end of the swallow. Otherwise the finish is pretty bland. TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Sep 16, 2007 Bottle. Blushing amber. Ruddy tinge. Aroma is soft tart cherry, malt, and light grains. Taste is cherry pie. Almost exactly like cherry pie. Cherry notes, doughy, bready malts and some sweet malts. Body is spritzy and well carbonated. Light-medium overall feel to this. There some astringency due to the cherries. Finishes like cherry pie, again. Some doughy malts, cherries and maybe an artificial sweetness. Not bad, though. jaymobrown (1343), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 15, 2007 Bottle. Amber color. Nutty nose. Slightly hop flavor. Some cherries with a wheat taste throughout. A bit nutty in the finish. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Sep 11, 2007 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Murray’s Liquors in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. Pours a light new penny copper amber brew with a light peach head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of light bready malt, some cherry, a touch of grassy hops and some tart berry. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a good balance of bready malt and cherries. Finish is slightly tart with a cherry bread aftertaste. A light fruit beer overall. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Sep 9, 2007 9/09/2007: Lakefront Cherry Lager Beer is dark peach in color (golden with a pinkish hue to it) and a bit hazy. It has a small, but foamy off-white head with a tinge of pink to it that doesn’t quickly diminish and leaves a substantial amount of lacing on the glass. There really isn’t too much of anything in the aroma (no cherry at all). The flavor is similar to a light lager with some lightly tart cherry added along with a cherry blossom floral quality as well. The beer/cherry flavors are well-balanced and the cherry actually tastes real. The visible carbonation is ample and lively, but thankfully the palate is smooth and doesn’t feel too carbonated. This beer is light, crisp, and refreshing, but doesn’t make my list of favorite fruit beers by a long shot...
12 fl. oz. bottle (Bottled during Apr, Wk2) from hopdog. Thanks Steve! Rating #70 for this beer...
DirtyMartini (194), Los Angeles, Alabama, USA Sep 5, 2007 rather disappointed in this beer. the cherry tartness/sweetness (depending on the cherry) was lacking. barely there. like a basic lager with a touch of cherry added. truly mediocre in comparison to many other fruit beers ive enjoyed.
