Commercial Description:
An American style fruit beer made with Wisconsin’s Door County cooking cherries and lager yeast. The tartness of the cherry is balanced with the sweetness from the 2-row barley and the flavoring of Mt. Hood hops.

Smell is very sweet, can smell the cherries. Has a red color to it. The taste is eh, too sweet for me, wouldn’t buy, maybe would drink again.

Beer pours hazy rust red with a nice sized head. The aromas are of light cherries with some maltiness. The flavor shows the door county cherries even bolder but with the nice amnount of malt backing up the crisp mouthfeel.

Bottle. Hazy orange with a medium, pink head. Aroma of sweet malt and cherries. Taste is mostly sweet beer with some sour cherries mixed in. Admirable job, I think.

From Alefest in Columbus. Pink, with a large pink head. Has a fake cherry aroma. Fairly sweet, with a more natural cherry flavor that turns sour quickly.

Hazed copper, foamy white head. Nose held soft notes of juicy cherry with touches of honey and breadiness. Soft tart cherry flavors are decently balanced by a light earthy bready tone. Light to medium bodied, fizzy carbonation, fruity finish. Nothing wrong with this beer. Refreshing and well made for those hot summer days...

Bottle. Surprisingly, cherries are hard to pick up in the nose. Maybe a touch of a tart character, but that’s all I’m picking up. Body is kind of a reddish gold; head was pretty big for a short while... a lovely pinkish color. Not great after that... flavor is bitter, tart and vinegary all at once. Apart from the disappointment left behind by the cherry experiment gone wrong, there is little left to be had. The underlying malt structure is weak at best, the hops is no there other than a bit of a grassy note. ***Re-rated 10/22/2007*** Not picking up the vinegar and other foul notes. Still tart and cherry dominated, but much better than the last bottle. Wouldn’t mortgage the house to keep this in stock, but serviceable.

(draft) Lightly hazed apple juice body, creamy white head, nice lacing. Taste is medium sweet, mild, cherry, minimal lager yeast sourness. Taste is medium sweet, cherry, some bread. Light-medium body.
