| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2005 Nice red color with lots of carbonation. You can smell and taste the cherry because you know to expect it from the bottle. In a blind tasting I would not call this a fruit beer, and it might be the first disappointment from this brewery that makes beers I otherwise enjoy. Fairly smooth, a little wheat in the flavor. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 16, 2005 Updated: Jul 18, 2005This is the tastiest cherry lager that I’ve had yet... an easy statement to make, since it’s the only one I’ve had. It’s a very handsome drink, pouring a clear reddish/brown, highly carbonated, but with a wisp of a white head. The aroma is clean, smelling of sweet/sour cheeries, along with their pits. The flavor is caramel and cherry in harmonious balance. There’s a light, earthy hop bitterness in the finish that somehow satifies as the brew’s topper. Decent.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 13, 2005 Pours a clear amber color, lots of bbbles rising to form a small thin white head. Aroma is fresh cherries and caramel malt. Flavor is full of cherries, almost overpowering and tart. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 16, 2005 One of the first pickings of the April 2005 batch. Aroma is first and foremost tart cherries, and is yeasty and sweet. Those elements start to fade, and the lager smells suspiciously similar to a Cherry 7-Up. Color is amber rose with no head. Tastes sourer than expected. Some tart cherries, but the Cherry 7-Up similarity creeps up again - this time, however, it’s more like a diet version. Body is thin and slick. High carbonation; could use some more malts. At times, it seems like this one can’t decide which way it wants to go - a fruit beer, or an amber. Finish is sweet, sour and watery. Glad my wife like this one. Nuffield (2721), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

There is a pumpkin-holiday flavor, interestingly. Fizzy, not a great palate. I like it, all things considered. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 20, 2004 2004 bottle compliments of Footbalm. Pours a ruddy auburn with some deeper brownish-yellow tinges and a beige head. Aroma of lightly tart cherries, some pungent yeast notes, hint of balsamic vinegar, and some dusty old hops notes. Flavor is very dry to begin, with a small dose of tart cherries. You can tell right away that the brewers took care not to go overboard with this one. Virtually no sweetness to it, with plenty of crisp, lightly sour lager yeast. Medium-light body, thinning on the end. Overall, a well-made, balanced fruit beer, but it suffers from the heavy filtration, seems a little bit lifeless. If the yeast was left in the bottle, this might truly be a very complex beer. As it is now, it is a crisp, clean lager with a firm tart cherry base.
