A tart Cherry beer. Per the brewmaster's recommendation, I tried a half and half with this and the East Side Dark. Now that was a damn good drink!!! Nuffield (2749), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

There is a pumpkin-holiday flavor, interestingly. Fizzy, not a great palate. I like it, all things considered. howie (549), DeForest, Wisconsin, USA

Slight, dissapating head. The cherries are used almost as a "bittering" agent in this beer, adding tartness in the finish and only a very subtle authentic cherry flavor. A little reminiscent of a dry cider. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 20, 2004 2004 bottle compliments of Footbalm. Pours a ruddy auburn with some deeper brownish-yellow tinges and a beige head. Aroma of lightly tart cherries, some pungent yeast notes, hint of balsamic vinegar, and some dusty old hops notes. Flavor is very dry to begin, with a small dose of tart cherries. You can tell right away that the brewers took care not to go overboard with this one. Virtually no sweetness to it, with plenty of crisp, lightly sour lager yeast. Medium-light body, thinning on the end. Overall, a well-made, balanced fruit beer, but it suffers from the heavy filtration, seems a little bit lifeless. If the yeast was left in the bottle, this might truly be a very complex beer. As it is now, it is a crisp, clean lager with a firm tart cherry base. Firemoose15 (542), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma, caramel malts, light cherry. Poured an amberish cherry brown. Flavor nice light cherry, toasted malts with just a tinge of hops. Palate was lively, tart. Overall, tasty. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Had this beer on 8/19/2003. Aroma is a wine like scent with a hint of cherry. Color is a bright crisp amber with very bubbly carbonation and a nice fine head. Taste is smooth and mild. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down smooth with an almost creamy feel. This smoothness sharpens a bit as the finish comes on with a mildly tart cherry flavor complemented by a nice malt sweetness and a faint hop bitterness. Its a very well balanced beer and is a perfect summer time brew. MrBendo (1052), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Taste is mostly sweet beer with some sour cherries mixed in. Admirable job, I think. jlthiering (47), Viginia Beach, Maryland, USA
