Commercial Description:
This top fermenting amber-colored ale is brewed using generous amounts of malt and kettle hops. The trademark of this ale is its beautiful hop bouquet and taste that comes from a liberal dry hopping of the highest grade Cascade hops during the secondary fermentation. The malt firmness of this ale comes from the perfect mixture of two-row malted barley, carapils, and caramel specialty malts. The ale has an original gravity of 1060 and is fermented at 65 degrees farenheight which imparts the classic ale fruitiness to the brew.

Bottle. Pour is fizzy... a big head sits on top of an amber body that is full of carbonation. Aromas are hoppy, but not very full. At first I thought I picked up pineapple and grapefruit aromas from the hops, but now I’m not so sure. Flavor is watery and hoppy... there is a pine/pineapple presence to the hops that is present, just that there is not enough of a malt body to balance it out. The perk is that this makes it light and refreshing. Still, it is a nice drink, just not something I would get all excited about.

Had this beer on 3/25/2003. Aroma is hoppy with a slight Coors like scent. Color is a deep golden brown with light carbonation and a thin head. Taste is mildly malty and hoppy. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a crisp creamy feel and a sooth maltiness. Finish is a nice fresh hop flavor backed by a mildly sweet malt flavor and an easy bitterness. Overall this is a very complex beer. Its full flavored and well rounded beer with flavor that hits all points of the beer spectrum.

Bitter taste and smell. Not the greatest beer I have ever had, not the worst either.

Nice pale ale. Dry hoppy bitterness with a pleasant hop aroma. Gold color with medium carbonation leaving no lacing on the glass.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a large creamy off white head. The aroma is fruity mostly grapefruit citrus. There is also caramel malt and bread. The flavor is medium sweet caramel malt, grapefruit, light pine, and sweet bread. Medium bodied. This is a nice APA.

clear amber, thin beige head, nice sweet citrus aroma, good body, tasty sweet carmel malt flavor with good hop character and a mild bitter finish, flavor does not quite live up to the aroma but is still very nice, a quaffable pale ale

Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Murray’s in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. Pours a clear coppery amber brew with an average off-qhite head that quickly dissolves toa fine film and white ring. Spotty lacing at best. Aroma of light caramel malt, Ivory soap, some citrus zest and a touch of tangerine. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of caramel malt and citrus zest. Finish is slightly dry with a good caramel citrus flavor. Not over the top bbut still drinkable.

Bottle: The aroma is extremely fruity. Buried behind all the fruit is some faint caramel, soap/perfume, and citrus hops. Pours a transparent amber with a large creamy orange tinged white head with very good retention that leaves behind clumps of lacing. The flavor starts with a quick dose of fruit with some faint floral notes. The finish quickly turns to some very strong off sour flavors with some faint citrus notes barely able to sneak thru. Wow...did not see that coming from the aroma. Really awful. I’m hesitant to even take another sip to attempt to give it a fair score for palate. Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. They must have some serious infection problems. This is the second beer from these guys that has completely repulsed me with the really off sour flavors. Thank aroma and appearance for keeping this out of my bottom five beers.
