Commercial Description:
This top fermenting amber-colored ale is brewed using generous amounts of malt and kettle hops. The trademark of this ale is its beautiful hop bouquet and taste that comes from a liberal dry hopping of the highest grade Cascade hops during the secondary fermentation. The malt firmness of this ale comes from the perfect mixture of two-row malted barley, carapils, and caramel specialty malts. The ale has an original gravity of 1060 and is fermented at 65 degrees farenheight which imparts the classic ale fruitiness to the brew.

First of all, let me express my concern for the misleading name. "Cream City" on a Pale ale? What’s in a name? When you have no credentials like Lakefront you better not pull crap like this. Just call it something like "9-5 pale ale" because this beer is pretty average. It tastes almost exactly like Riverwest Stein or whatever the hell it was called. A little lighter in body so the nice hops can shine.

Thanks to DanSting for this beer! 12oz bottle. Bottled December, week 1. Served in a shaker at 48.5°. Reddish, orange, copper color with not much of a head. Aroma is caramel and spicy hops. Taste is earthy, woodsy, herbal, with some caramely/toffe malt backbone. Moderate hops for the style. Finish is earthy hops with a touch of citrus.

Clear copper, thin filmy head. Slight doughy aroma on the initial pour, but completely dies. Taste is grassy hops, minerals, caramel malts. Sweet. Finish is ho-hum. Could be a pretty solid beer if the lose ends were tied up.

This is a decent session ale, pouring a body the color of a shiny penny with a fleeting, creamy head. The aroma is a clean caramel smell with a well balanced pine & grapefruit hop bitterness. The flavor is equally balanced, a sweet caramel/toffee backbone with a modest but appreciable hop bitterness that lingers very nicely in the finish. Definitely a brew to repeat.

Has a decent grapefruit aroma at start. By finish tangy lemon aroma is present. Copper body with not much for head. Flavor at start has that good grape fruit flavor. But as beer warms at finish a lemon flavor that is tart and somewhat sour is there. Dry palate. Decent beer.

Clear deep-copper and headless with grapefruit aromas and a few adversities that were subtle and unidentifiable. Nice, fruity bitterness with big citric overtones resting on sweet, caramelesque malts. Flavor turns slightly acrid as it warms, so I recommend keeping it cool. A better than average APA.
