Commercial Description:
This top fermenting amber-colored ale is brewed using generous amounts of malt and kettle hops. The trademark of this ale is its beautiful hop bouquet and taste that comes from a liberal dry hopping of the highest grade Cascade hops during the secondary fermentation. The malt firmness of this ale comes from the perfect mixture of two-row malted barley, carapils, and caramel specialty malts. The ale has an original gravity of 1060 and is fermented at 65 degrees farenheight which imparts the classic ale fruitiness to the brew.

Medium orange gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity, floral and sweet. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. Malts are very fruity and sweet. Hops are floral and slightly spicy. Nice balance. Smooth tasting APA. Kind of bitter and has a bigger hop bite than most APA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

(12 oz bottle: The Cellars in Roseville, MN) This beer certainly appears pretty lifeless out of the bottle, barely achieving a thin layer of off-white head, and quickly dissipating into the slightest of rims around the edge of the glass. No carbonation bubbles anywhere in sight. Medium gold in color and fully clear in appearance. Not exactly a pretty beer here. But the aromatic nose seems nice -- malty, moderately sweet, lightly hoppy. The flavor is about what I was expecting based on the nose. It’s moderately flavorful, malty, somewhat bready and sweet, with a fairly gentle hoppiness for some balance in the finish. When I took my first sniff of this beer, I got a fair amount of sourness, but that disappeared in subsequent whiffs. However, I think I consistently detect a slight sourness in the finish, nothing unpleasant at all, but there nonetheless. Medium bodied. Not a bad tasting APA, probably about average there, but jeez, this beer looks like it sat in the glass overnight.

Very strong vanilla flavor, somewhat unbalanced because of that. Nice hop bite almost, but not quite, saves the day...

Trying rather hard to be a memorable IPA. Overhopped--yet with decent hop flavors. Rest of flavor potentials are thin, with rather minimal impact. As a vehicle for hops, not bad. I won’t try it again.

a very earnest pale ale, and blindingly vivacious in sunshine oranges: it’s like carrots and car keys liquified. head was a waning formation of what meteorologists might call stratocumulus. no surprises in the aroma, simply a very professional arrangement of malts and hops-- as snug as a dovetailed drawer. good refreshing bite is honest , clean and balanced. sweetness can’t really take hold, even on it’s toasty foundation. hops aren’t huge, but with a mild grapefruit rind flavor, they’re satisfactory. medium bodied, and the carb tapers from bebop to ballad. nice simple drink.

Great pale ale. Looks grainy and slightly cloudy, and thicker than most other pale ales. Tastes full and has a spicy bite, somewhat grassy, bitter, wheaty. Minor caramel taste lingers on the back end with a clean finish. I like it.

Pours a pleasing amber with a thin head that quickly dissipates. More balanced malt than SNPA, but I miss the hop bite. Not as carbonated as I would like, still, a very drinkable pale from a respected brewer.

Nice hop aroma, doesn’t look very carbonated, grainey hop tinged taste, feels more carbonated than it looks a little more perky than S.N.P.A. but not as smooth or as complex, a decent effort. I have however found it a little inconsistant.
