theisti (1640), Leawood, Kansas, USA Jul 21, 2008 12 oz bottle purchased at Metcalf Discount Liquor on 91st Street. Bottled in Apr WK 2 according to the bottle. Pour is clear golden ruby with a one inch off white head. Aroma of lightly toasted malt and floral grassy hoppiness. Aroma has earthiness and mineral in it as well. Taste is very nice, and reflects the nose perfectly. Toasty biscuit sweet maltiness accented perfectly by the slight bitterness of the hops. The mineral character is strong throughout giving this a very unique flavor. I drank and rated this prior to reading the commercial description, and was a bit surprised to see the hops are Cascade on this one. I would have guessed more of an English variety. The body was medium, and very drinkable. Nothing complicated in this one, but beautifully executed. amishcaravan (237), Winona, Minnesota, USA Jul 10, 2008 slight floral scent of hops. taste is of hops and a little caramel. kind of a sweet finish. Not a bad brew. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Jul 10, 2008 Pour is dark golden with a medium white head. Aroma is very malty with some light hop characters. Flavor is malty with some deep caramel, light fruity characters, and deep hops. I mostly got deep flavor hops and not many aroma hops. Decent brew. Drinkable. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 7, 2008 Certainly a credible America pale, pouring much more orange than I was expecting, with a nose that made me think of crushed pine nuts. Far less hoppy than one of its Indian relatives, this beer tastes of biscuit, grapefruit, and pine. mcc5468 (102), USA Jun 25, 2008 Cloudy orange pour. Slight hop aroma. Slightly less of the hop level in the taste than I would like. Pretty good overall - I would describe it as an IPA-light.. I would drink again but wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it. jcp23 (47), Duluth, Georgia, USA Jun 18, 2008 Slightly hazy, darkish orange color, with thin white head. Mild hop aroma. Mild Cascade flavor on a decent malt foundation. One of the most average, unexceptional pale ales I’ve had. Not bad, but just mediocre and uninspiring. In a word; boring. The hops are OK, it just needs more of them. I wouldn’t seek it out, but I wouldn’t turn one down. Ambivalence anyone? BigBen2120 (688), Derry, New Hampshire, USA Jun 8, 2008 12oz brown bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester as part of this brewery’s sampler 8-pack. Pours amber-orange with a thin film of off-white head. Smells piney and citrussy with biscuit and caramel present in the background. Tastes strongly citrusy, piney, and caramel. Flavor is appealing and well-balanced. Medium in body with ample carbonation. A solid APA for sure - nothing more, nothing less. BelgianBeerGal (1276), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA May 30, 2008 Bottled. Slightly hazy orange colour with a small white head. Aroma of citrus hops and caramel malt. Hop flavour heavily balanced with more caramel malt. Finshed short, dry and moderately bitter. Decent APA.
