BigBen2120 (558), Gardiner(52 miles from Allagash), Maine, USA Jun 8, 2008 12oz brown bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester as part of this brewery’s sampler 8-pack. Pours amber-orange with a thin film of off-white head. Smells piney and citrussy with biscuit and caramel present in the background. Tastes strongly citrusy, piney, and caramel. Flavor is appealing and well-balanced. Medium in body with ample carbonation. A solid APA for sure - nothing more, nothing less.
mcjay (75), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Sep 15, 2008 Light amber color with a thin white head. Skunky with a mild citrus aroma, pale taste with a bitter finish and mild malty mouth feel CaryTheDude (261), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Sep 14, 2008 Nice looking pale ale. Almost medium-bodied, flavor is aight, but the finish is so sour it makes me feel like I’m sucking on a lemon. Would be an aight brew if it would have held up until the end. BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Aug 18, 2008 This is a decent little pale ale, could be a little stronger on the body but drinks quite nicely for my money. Pours a hazy orangeish amber with a small white head, that recedes into some ample sticky lacing. Light toasted toffee nose, with some caramel maltiness, light floral and citrus hops. A very nice drinkable pale ale, to start off the night. Gregis (923), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Aug 11, 2008 Pours a deep, clear amber with a prolific supply of rising bubbles and a frothy off-white head that laces fairly well. The nose is of pale caramel malt backed by a fruity hop note and a slightly "off" almost adjunct-like quality. I can’t quite put my finger on what this aroma reminds me of, but it is a bit of a detractor from an otherwise pleasant nose. Light to medium-bodied and quite soft despite the visible torrent of carbonation, the mouthfeel finishes just slightly metallic and lightly bitter. The flavor is of pale malt backed by grassy and fruity hops finishing again with a slightly metallic and bitter conclusion that lingers a few seconds after the swallow. This is a completely quaffable and decent brew. There’s nothing really "wrong" with it. It just doesn’t do a whole lot for me. checkmatei1 (254), Willow Grove, USA Jul 30, 2008 Bottle: Poured a yellow color with a little bit of head. The aroma was light hops and light citrus. The flavor was smooth, light hops, a touch of sweet and a touch of bitter spice. Overall, an easy drinking Pale Ale...very good!
