aracauna (2195), Georgia, USA Mar 22, 2008 Pours a hazy amber with a lasting off-white head. The aroma is genuinely hoppy, a little spicy, but it’s not as strong as would be expected for an IPA. For an APA, it’s appropriate. Decent maltiness. Appropriate hop flavor and bitterness. Not too shabby.
shendrix (426), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 7, 2008 Certainly a credible America pale, pouring much more orange than I was expecting, with a nose that made me think of crushed pine nuts. Far less hoppy than one of its Indian relatives, this beer tastes of biscuit, grapefruit, and pine. mcc5468 (23), USA Jun 25, 2008 Cloudy orange pour. Slight hop aroma. Slightly less of the hop level in the taste than I would like. Pretty good overall - I would describe it as an IPA-light.. I would drink again but wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it. jcp23 (38), Duluth, Georgia, USA Jun 18, 2008 Slightly hazy, darkish orange color, with thin white head. Mild hop aroma. Mild Cascade flavor on a decent malt foundation. One of the most average, unexceptional pale ales I’ve had. Not bad, but just mediocre and uninspiring. In a word; boring. The hops are OK, it just needs more of them. I wouldn’t seek it out, but I wouldn’t turn one down. Ambivalence anyone? BigBen2120 (539), Gardiner(52 miles from Allagash), Maine, USA Jun 8, 2008 12oz brown bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester as part of this brewery’s sampler 8-pack. Pours amber-orange with a thin film of off-white head. Smells piney and citrussy with biscuit and caramel present in the background. Tastes strongly citrusy, piney, and caramel. Flavor is appealing and well-balanced. Medium in body with ample carbonation. A solid APA for sure - nothing more, nothing less. BelgianBeerGal (846), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA May 30, 2008 Bottled. Slightly hazy orange colour with a small white head. Aroma of citrus hops and caramel malt. Hop flavour heavily balanced with more caramel malt. Finshed short, dry and moderately bitter. Decent APA.
