3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JoeMcPhee (6969) - Toronto, ON, - APR 8, 2008
Deep copper colour with an off-white head. Fresh citrus hop aroma. Grapefruit and sweet toasted/cookie dough malt. Quite fresh tasting as well. Simple and straightforward with a great balance of malt and hop. Fairly soft bitterness with no resinousness at all. Simple, straightforward and tasty. Warming brings out a kiss of spiciness on the palate. Really tasty APA.

Bottle--hazy, straw color color with a small lasting head and lacing on the glass. Aroma was of grapefruit hops with a base of malts. Taste was a sweet, slight caramel with a soft citrus smack. Medium carbonation with a medium hop finish. Variety pack, Publix.

The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is full of grain and grass, with some orange citrus thrown in for good measure. The flavor is hoppier than the aroma. I get some orange, pine and resin notes from the hops, as well as some biscuit malt notes. The bitterness level is low. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Originally reviewed: 2/23/12. 12 oz bottle, bottled on the 3rd week of November ’11.
Pours a hazy dark orange/gold. A small half-inch head on top. Great sticky lace left on the glass. Mild citrus tones in the nose. Slight yeasty bready aromas as well. The body could stand to have a bit more carbonation to back it up. Light tartness greets me on the first sip, then finishes with a nice bitter zip. But the flavors fall flat after that. Bready flavors, mild honey sweetness - nothing really stands out though. Little aftertaste. The ingredients are there for a great APA, it’s just poorly executed.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 3/25/12
Aroma: The nose has some orange/citrus, a little spice, and some toast and yeast
Appearance: This one pours a cloudy orange-amber color with a small white head
Flavor: The taste has some orange and caramel malt sweetness, with a lightly bitter finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, with a slightly creamy, drinkable feel, and soft-to-average carbonation
Overall Impression:
I thought this was a solid one, though it is a little on the boring side. Still, this is a drinkable beer, with some decent components to it.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 pkbites (509) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 31, 2011
I was surprised by this. I’m not so much into pale ales as I am amber ales. This has a nice fruity aroma and flavor and a hearty, hoppy finish. Aftertaste is lightly bitter from the hops. A very pleasant, even handed brew.

Bottle. Murky golden yellow pour. Small white head. Aroma is mildly sour with tart fruit - starting to think maybe the bottle has gone bad. Medium-light palate with soft carbonation. Taste.....yep, I bet the bottle has gone bad. More like a weak sour than a pale ale. Dangit.

A coppery amber color with a thin off white head. Smooth and balanced with a crisp finish that has just enough hoppy bitterness. A nice session ale.

355ml bottle poured a pale amber color with a small white head that settled quickly leaving some thin spotted lacing. Aroma is floral hops and not much else. Taste is light malty sweetness with some nice hoppy bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied and nicely carbonated this is quite an enjoyable pale ale.

(12oz bottled December) copper color with effervescent bubbles and a creamy tan head. Nose of creamsickle, orange, herbs and light hops. Taste of cracker, earth, orange, and an earthy linger. Rather boring beer. Soft carbonation.
