Nov 26, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a dark opaque brown with a tall foamy sudsy light tan airy froth. Aroma of brett and roast, sweet and tart, berries and dark sweet tootsie-roll, actually smells pretty good, definite brett infection which is somewhat lucky as it could have been something not so friendly, Flavor is upfront very bretty, some sharp tartness, bitter, not very roasty, mostly tart, some other infection present that isn’t so pleasant, hint of grassy munich malt sweetness. Medium/light bodied with lots of added airy fluffy but fairly sharp carbonation, no doubt due to the infection. Will have to give this another go... uninfected. Now that I think about it, my bottle of Lakefront White had a pleasant infection also.

Sep 2, 2009 Oostkant!!! Burnt chocolate with a peaty topsoil nose. Earthy and rich. Very dark brown, small tan head. Wow. Pretzels. Even the salt. Crisp and cracker like. I’m digging this character. It’s like Paul Newman pretzel sticks. Sweet lip smacking finish, molasses sweet.

Sep 1, 2009 Another bland effort from lakefront. Oh well. Brown pour. Come spent coffee on the nose with some toasted malt, dark caramel and very light hops. Flavor is malty and has a chocolate note. Nothing is really wrong with this beer, but it is just boring.

Aug 16, 2009 A very sweet and malty dark lager. Very sweet like dark cherries or dark chocolate with a honey bite. Pours dunkel dark.

Aug 13, 2009 Aroma is of coffee with some slight chocolate notes. Flavor is very similar but a slight watery palate that turned me off a bit.
