AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA Mar 14, 2008 Pours dark brown with minimal off white gead. Nose is actually quite nice, with a bready and yeasty influence. The flavor is dry, malty, and clean. A touch of smokiness in the finish. I got a bunch of this breweries beers for free, and I really haven’t liked any of them. This one is not too bad, though. BückDich (4790), McCall, Idaho, USA Mar 12, 2008 Bottle: Dark amber color, light off-white head and no lacing. The nose is fruity and yeasty with a touch of bourbon and roast. The flavor is a like a thin mocha with some coffee and chocolate notes. The finish has some raspberry and sweet fruit notes. Decent dunkel, roasty, good body and a creamy mouthfeel. Dry coffee grounds? Arayaga2 (933), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 25, 2008 Brownish red with off-white head. Aroma is biscuity and a tad smoky with a bit of caramel. Sweet bacony taste ends in crackers with an odd salmon protein wash aftertaste. Still not bad at all. PhillyHomeBrew (176), Forest Hills, New York, USA Feb 25, 2008 Dark body with a little white head around the glass. The aroma is wood with a bit of smokiness. The flavor is the same- a bit of bacon, with caramel on the front end. GaltScat (195), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Feb 19, 2008 Dark brown color. Little to no head. Aroma is malt, caramel, touch of smoke and oak. A medium to light bodied dunkel. Malts are fruity, chocolate and sweet. Very smooth taste, Lots of malt not a lot of hops. Nice easy drinking dark beer. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Feb 13, 2008 Clear mahogany color with a thin head. Nice roasted malt nutty smell. Rich robust taste of dark roasted malts with a hint of caramel sweetness. Very smooth blackened malt taste to finish. 112306 RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 4, 2008 Pours a clear dark brown with a minimal tan head. Nose is so minimally earthy and leafy that it is almost non-existent. Flavor is earthy and leafy with a bitter tang to it. Feel has a decent bubble and the liquid is nice too, but overall this is a lackluster performance. Nothing to run to the store to grab hold of. Cobra (1060), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA Jan 25, 2008 Sorry, I just don’t see it. 12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a dark amber color, with a thin tan head. Aromas are of slight roasted malts, yeasty bread, earthy hops. Flavors about the same as aromas. Thin body, thin mouthfeel.
Finished too sweet. Not that great a beer overall.
