Eastside Dark The rich, coffee-like aroma and flavor of this fine Dark Bavarian style lager beer is derived from a precise blending of three different specialty barley malts, chocolate, black patent, and Munich malt. Munich malt is also added to bring about the creamy body of this malty brew that has an original gravity of 1060. The most impressive aspect of this brew is the perfect balance between the specialty malts and coveted Mt. Hood hops. Unlike many other dark beers, East Side Dark doesn’t have the bitter aftertaste associated with it. Instead, your palate is greeted with the rich body and balanced flavor that only this beer can deliver.

Bottle - Coffee as advertised, with a bit of sweetness. An almost opaque mahogany, with a minimal off white head. Rich texture with a roasted malt flavor, notes of coffee and hops and as advertised no bitterness in the finish. A decent beer, nothing exciting, but it is exactly as advertised.

Pours dark brown with a reddish tint. Creamy tan head. Aroma of malt, toast, roasty. Lively carbonation, creamy body, long finish with a light bitter bite. Very nice, medium richness beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not much aroma, no head, light body. It's surprisingly pretty drinkable. Beer came with beer of the month delivery. Worth a try. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Eastside dark is a treat! It pours a very dark brown as the scent of malts tickle your nose. Has a short lived head on it though. It has a semi-heavy nutty taste to it mixed with what tastes to be a few spices. Only complaint here is that it could use a little more carbonation to it.

Bottle. Medium dark brown with orange highlights nd a thin tan head that reduces to a patena of whispy bubbles. Aroma is tinny caramel, not appealing at all. Flavours are sweet fruity caramel with mild biterness in the finish. Too carbonated.

Not much on the nose. Pours a mild brown color with some lucency. Roasted malt flavor with a light body. Roasted flavors does not hang around to long. Nice and easy dark bear to drink. Not to mcuh going on but not much bad either.

Bottle from PW pick a sixer. Pours brown with thin head. Definite taste of rich chocolate but really don’t taste the hops at all....nice and smooth but a bit thin. Good but not great.

Whole Foods, Bowery 12oz ($2): Pours a dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and that distinct lager aroma. Taste is very mellow, with pretty much no bitterness. It is very easy to session. It ain’t very complex, but it is plenty pleasant to drink.
