Commercial Description:
Eastside Dark The rich, coffee-like aroma and flavor ot this find Dark Bavarian style lager beer is derived from a precise blending of three different specialty barley malts, chocolate, black patent, and Munich malt. Munich malt is also added to bring about the creamy body of this malty brew that has an original gravity of 1060. The most impressive aspect of ths brew is the perfect balance between the specialty malts and coveted Mt. Hood hops. Unlike many other dark beers, East Side Dark doesn't have the bitter aftertaste associated with it. Instead, your palate is greeted with the rich body and balanced flavor that only this beer can deliver.

12oz bottle: Appearance is pitch black with slow fading tan head, aroma is a very faint hint of roasted malt, flavor is of roasted malt and a hint of coffee. I would have no clue this is a lager tastes and looks more like a stout not bad but pretty simple,

Pours and ever so slightly hazy beer bottle brown with almost no head-suspicious. Aroma has plenty of toffee and caramel character, a little roast and some herbal hops. Flavor is a little roast and toffee, along with some grassy and herbal hops. The body is thin and syrupy.

Bottle dated late August. Dark brown color, but still translucent. Not much aroma. Very light roast quality if any. Not a whole lot of flavor. Seems more like food coloring added to a lighter lager.

Bottle. Pours copper with a beige head. Lightly sweet aroma with a bit of grain. The flavor has lightly sweet caramel with a touch of roasted malt. Not bad.

12oz bottle. Poured a clear dark brown color with orange light shining through. The head was off white with a distinct yellow tint. It reduced relatively quickly to a thin lasting film. Smelled of brown sugar and toffee with a whiff of coffee. Medium bodied and semi-sweet. The brown sugary flavor was a little too sugary for me. Malty toffee and some dark fruit also emerged. Not bad.

(Bottle). Aroma is malty, light maple-cured ham. Dark brown body, thin light tan head. Flavor is malt, caramel, light fruit, fortunately not too sweet. Balanced finish. Very nice.
