Poured brown with a hint of amber in color with a small tan head that diminished. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of medium-sized particles. Roasted malt finish. keoki182 (298), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA Jun 15, 2008 Eastside Dark is a most enjoyable dark lager. Reminds me of Leinie’s Creamy Dark, but Lakefront’s is far and away the more complete and sophisticated of the two. Good cocoa notes mix well with the various malts used. Aroma is slightly toasted nuts. Probably my favorite of Lakefront’s offerings, along with Fuel Cafe. BigBen2120 (539), Gardiner(52 miles from Allagash), Maine, USA Jun 7, 2008 12oz brown bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester as part of this brewery’s sampler 8-pack. Pours dark brown with ruby-red highlights and a half inch of light tan head. Smells like chocolate, caramel, with just the slightest hint of hops. Tastes chocolatey and nutty with smoke and fruit notes on the finish. Full bodied with ample carbonation helps make this dunkel even more drinkable. Very tasty - a really solid dunkel. RagallachMC (608), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jun 3, 2008 12oz bottle. Aroma: Munich malt, cocoa, light spice, toffee, light sulfur. Appearance: Dark reddish-brown in color with chestnut highlights. A bit of hop flavor at the end, but well balanced overall. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Nice drinker. Good flavors and well balanced.
