COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Eastside Dark The rich, coffee-like aroma and flavor of this fine Dark Bavarian style lager beer is derived from a precise blending of three different specialty barley malts, chocolate, black patent, and Munich malt. Munich malt is also added to bring about the creamy body of this malty brew that has an original gravity of 1060. The most impressive aspect of this brew is the perfect balance between the specialty malts and coveted Mt. Hood hops. Unlike many other dark beers, East Side Dark doesn’t have the bitter aftertaste associated with it. Instead, your palate is greeted with the rich body and balanced flavor that only this beer can deliver.

On tap @ Wolskis. Head dies a little too quickly. Otherwise the malty, light chocolate flavor shines through. Toast warm yet not dry. This is a dark beer you could chug if you had to (rare among darks). Mouthfeel is medium-heavy but not burnt coffee like many dark beers. PK Like!!!!

Aroma is roasted barely/malt Tate is really the same. Pretty standard dark lager. Nothing exciting but decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

>> Thanks Morgan! Deep brown pour, weak foam. Nose is dark bread and burnt pizza crust. Sugary taste- one dimensional, hints of roast are more aggressive than the Fuel Cafe surprisingly.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pilsener glass. There was a dark brown close to black color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing sliding into the beer. The smell had a roasty nutty to chocolate coating over top of a light banana aroma. The taste was mainly sweet through the fruity and malty chocolate - ness. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for the style and for me as it was noticeable but not overbearing. I have to admit there’s a really nice smooth creamy banana finish. Overall, what a really nice beer that seemed to show that this could be a great dessert beer.

Draft @ Millertime in MKE. Nice sweet coffee aroma. Dark brown, w/slight ruby highlights. I liked the malty flavor. Medium, appropriate body. Nice beer.

Bottle from Cafe Hollander in Tosa Village, WI. The beer has a cola body with hints of ruby. A quarter inch of beige head quickly fades. The aroma offers bittersweet chocolates, light coffee, brown bread, malt. Ok flavor. Mild sweetness with moderate carbonation. Middle of the road.

Semi clear dark nutty brownish amber under a thick off-cream head. Nutty earthy aroma with a bit of roast and dark malt biscuit. Semi sweet earthy dark malts, some biscuitiness throughout, and a dry roast finish.

Pours a nice shade of brown, milk chocolate and bread on the nose. Caramel, bread, and chocolate on the palate. Not overly complex, but straight forward for what it is.

Twelve ounce bottle from Beer Of The (Every Other) Month Club, tasted on December 12, 2012. Dark brown ruby hue, small tan head that slowly left with fair lacing, nice sweet malty aroma with chocolate/bread/yeast notes, interesting sweet malty taste with chocolate notes. A couple of off notes in the flavor keep this from getting a higher score. Still, a respectable brew.
