Pure Milwaukee Genius Series 3: Inspired by the energy and audacity of the Fearless Fixed Gear Courier, Lakefront ran smack into this arresting creation. Itís RED, itís BOLD and it tastes DAMN GOOD. We could go on and on about it, but the fact is, you have one in your hand right now, so crack it open yourself. This oneís got an ATTITUDE.

Honey and citrus fruit aroma. Very cloudy with floaters. No hop presence. Malt forward. Raosted caramel with honey. Slightly under fermented. Raisiny aftertaste. Long finish with fruity aftertaste.

Not technically an IPA though it is in that spectrum. I keep coming back to this slightly bitter and malty fellow. The color is a little incongruous.

glennmastrange (2493) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 20, 2012
Bottle. Moderate malt notes of roasted and caramel, light hops and yeast notes of pine and soap, with wood and faint dried dark fruits like fig and cherry. Head is large, frothy, off-white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy medium dark orange/red. Flavor starts lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a soft to lively carbonation. This Amber Ale reaches above the style in terms of boldness and heavy body.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2013 Taster at Standard Market in Westmont, March 10, 2012. The server told me about using Centennial and Cascade, and this does have a nice hoppy smell. A little cloudy reddish brown, ring of foam. Nice big hoppy taste, too. Malts just slightly in the background. Stands out differently than an IPA, just a nice hoppy red ale. 7-4-7-4-15<hr> Sample from the 2011 Midwest Beer Fest thatís still on my phone. Sample poured from a bottle with a nice short layer of foam, a little hoppy smell. Just a straight hoppy beer smell. A little fruity backing from a warm ale fermentation. A nice combination that I havenít had from Lakefront in the past few years. A good hoppy red ale with caramel malts. Quite frankly one of the better Lakefront beers. 6-4-7-4-14. So both rating total 3.7. Glad to see I was consistent.

Bottle. Pours a nice ruby copper color with a small off white head. Hoppy, fruity, malty aromas. Taste is dry hops with malt backbone. Medium bodied and pretty easy to drink. Nice for its style.

The beer pours a light orange color with a small head.

The aroma is lightly spicy with some toasty malt, but itís pretty mild smelling all around.

The flavor is mildly sweet and has plenty of spicy hops throughout. The beer is moderately bitter and has some toasty malt character. Itís a nice tasting beer.
