This is considered an amber ale?! Holy cats, itís got some real flavor. I had a 6-ounce taster of this at the Lakefront Brewery tour today. It poured a beautiful reddish amber color, nice foamy head. The aroma was surprisingly hoppy, with a delicious citrus hop flavor and a lively body. I wasnít familiar with it before the tour, but Itís definitely a memorable beer.

>> Clear tea red pour, tan foam. Good lace. Nose is a tad vegetal, spicy cabbage, Munich malt. Taste is bitter, nutty, soapy, dry with lemon. Not offensive, a red IPA of sorts.

On tap at Brunzies. Mild sweet malty with neutral fruit and light hop notes. Coppery amber clear with creamy light beige lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts moderately sweet with nutty notes. Neutral fruity hops with very mild bitterness at the finish. Smooth after.

This is honestly now my favorite red. I had this on tap, AT the brewery, many times. Very nice in color and appearance (amber red, as it should be). Complex flavor for a red. Aroma is standard for a red, nothing crazy but not boring.

Bottled. Chestnut color with tiny off-white head. Spicy aroma, light pine, caramel malts, mild clementine/grapefruit. My wife says it smells like if a clementine and a grapefruit made sweet, sweet love. (She made me write that. She controls everything I do. Send help. Oh my God, she is watching as I type this.). Flavor is of slightly stale straw, grapefruit flesh, light black pepper. Mildly alcoholic. Reviewed on my 10th anniversary under the careful review of my wife. Hi Lauren!

Poured from the bottle into my favorite pint glass. It looks red if you hold it up to the light but it looks brown sitting on the table. I like that they made a beer thatís not an IPA that is 6.8% thatís different. Best served COLD, and donít be fooled by the first beer, must have a second (or 3rd, or do like me and drink the 6) to truly appreciate. You get your moneys worth with this one!

ARH (370) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 22, 2014
On tap, poured into a sampler glass. The aroma is heavily malty with a note of cooked butter (which fades), caramel, and toasted grains. It pours a hazy caramel and red color with a light brown, soft head. The head retains very well, but only leaves behind a light lace. The taste is a medium sweet with a medium light bitter. The texture is oily with soft carbonation and a full body. The finish matches the aromas with the butter replaced by more of a rye character. The rye is most prevalent in the aftertaste with a bit of sweet citrus.

Draft @ Millertime in MKE. Light hoppy aroma. Brownish copper color. Not sweet, but a nice caramel malt flavor. Nice thick head that stayed for a while. Nice, fill body. Good beer overall.

Red amber color with small head, unfortunately served in a frosted chalice. Slick caramel brew, light residual sugars, a bit fruity, estery, correct bitterness.
Decent.

Pours mahogany, medium head. Aroma is of yeast, malt, fruit. Taste is initially malty, piney and hoppy, then it is slightly sweet and fruity. Itís interesting, feels "thick" on the palate, syrupy, but isnít viscous like a syrup. It is well carbonated. Not too bad. Interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Medium dark brown-red with small tan head. Aroma is mostly malty, with a bit of piney hops. Medium body with light carbonation. Flavor is lightly roasted but sweet malts and hops are there too providing mostly a dry finish. Pretty good.
