Tap at FOBAB, poured a medium brown with a beige head. Aroma was Coffee, light barrel/whiskey notes, and light toasted malt. Flavor was a bit weak compared to the aroma. A bit water and one dimensional coffee stout, without much barrel complexity.

Draft on tap at The Rigby (Madison, WI). Pours a deep blackish hue, dark and thicker with opaque qualities. A frothy tannish head atop dies to a nice ring, laces small. Aromas are touches of spirit, growing barrel, with vanilla, oak, and coffee. Some toffee, caramel. Initial is medium bodied, with caramel and toffee, roasty coffee and earth. Gentle vanilla, touch more cocoa, coffee. A bit thinner overall. Bourbon, gentle whiskey, and roast. Richer vanilla tannins, touches of spirit, and carmelization. Some roasty qualities, gentle sweetness, darker. Backend is a bit acrid, coffee, vanilla. Touches of pretzels. Finish is roasty, lingering barrel flavors. Certainly not hot, but a fairly flavorful barrel element. Roasty, fudgy. Nice beer, a touch thin at times, but certainly support the barrel overall.

Cask at GTMW. Poured medium-deep brown with no life to it. The aroma picked up a nice blend of sweet coffee and whiskey.. warm cocoa too.. loved it! The flavor found lots of tasty coffee paired with light oak and vanilla.. some bourbon hit on the finish.. tasty stuff. Medium-bodied with no noticeable carbonation on the palate.. dry with a nice tang from the barrel.
