I purchased ’Fuel Cafe’ was slight nervousness. Bottle was 10 months old. Upon cracking the cap I was greeted by a chocolate and coffee aroma. Light bodied sweet stout with a flash of foam, roasted malt and coffee flavors. Lakefront Fuel Cafe was not a memorable coffee stout in my opinion. Initial attractive pour, but short lasting head and disappinting thin mouth feel. Expected more for a flavoured stout such as this. Initial Tast e is bitter and watery, but aftertaste does offer some lingering notes of coffee beans MrPickles (121), Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2009 12 oz bottle. Black with a thin brown head. Only a bit of coffee in the nose, malty, lightly roasty. Coffee is even less pronounced in the flavor, sweet malt and mild nuttiness. Finish finally has some coffee, but none of the bitterness from it. Body is a bit thin and watery, it really detracts from the beer. I expected more. Unibonger (74), Mount Shasta, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 11, 2009 (Bottle, looking to be probably 1 year old) Pours dark brown/black, decent head retention, tons of yeast. Sweet malty aroma, slight fruitiness and a tiny bit of coffee. Roasted malt flavor, not much coffee except on the finish. No noticeable bitterness. Bit of a bready flavor from the amount of yeast. Very smooth body with medium carbonation. tpd975 (257), Riverview, Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 10, 2009 A: Pours a nice dark black with a nice fluffy khaki head. There is some bubbles, and very minimal lacing.
S: Burnt malt with very mild chocolate undertones. No real nice coffee aroma.
T: A nice mild stout. There is no coffee to be found in this one though. There is a gentle taste of chocolate, but mostly charred malt.
M: Pretty thin for a stout, goes down smooth, but way off base.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Picked it up in a Lakefront sampler pack and this was one of the better ones. This is a very candy like, sweet stout that reminds me of the Old 38 stout. Pours a deep dark brown, almost black, overflowing tan head. Smell was a very strong coffee with a ton of sugar, McCafe like. This a better beer but not the best, pretty simple. But since this is a small micro in NorCal, big ups to that for getting out here. coldmeat23 (233), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Much like a Guinness, this pours almost black, with hints of brown around it’s edges, and a slight trace of ruby. Solid one-finger head that dissipates fairly quickly, leaving a thin foamy top. Quite decent lacing.
Dark fruits and roasted coffee beans. Slight maltiness. The coffee is not as prominent as I’d hoped it would be.
Light coffee notes mingle with a hint of chocolate. Very slight malt presence. Overall, this is weak.
Thin and waterey. Unimpressive.
This could be an easy session beverage. Then again, so could water. Just not much flavor going on here to tempt me to come back.
