Commercial Description:
This unique stout combines the flavor of roasted malts and Milwaukee's reknown FUEL CAFE coffee. The fine balance of mild hops, the gentle acidity of choice cofee and the sweetness of the barley makes this an unforgettable brew.

Pours a pitch black with a small quickly-dissipating mocha head and some spotty bubbly lacing. Aroma is dry coffee grounds. Taste is about the same with some maltiness and cardboard. The taste is blunt and to the point, nothing complex going on here. It’s the type of coffee-stout you drink after mowing the lawn on a hot summer day; enjoyable for the style but lacking finesse.

Really let down by this one. I had wanted to buy this on my past few visits to the Parti Pak, but always got something else instead. I expected this to be something comparable to Bells Java Stout, with the strong coffee flavor, but this one (sadly) didn’t even register with me at all. Has a nice appearance, black and creamy with a tan head. I couldn’t find any coffee at all in the aroma, and just the slightest hint of it in the taste. This is just an all around plain beer. I’d rather have a Berghoff or Leinny or even a PBR.

Bottle at Travis’ (El_Duderino) Bday party. Pours with a dark brown body topped by a thick, tan head with good lacing. It’s slightly sweet and herbal...actually reminds me of Iced tea...wieerd. Medium bodied, watery and smooth.

After reading this: http://ratebeer.com/forums/dear-stouts:-a-john-dea remembered that I had a stout in my fridge that I had not rated. I poured it into a classic Guinness glass and recoiled in horror as I discovered that it was clear and dark brown. Not black at all, just a shade darker than Newcastle. Some coffee in the aroma and some lame sourness. The flavor is acidic with some coffee notes but not a lot. Very thin and fizzy. This is sort of butt.

Pours a pitch black with pretty much no head. Not really a huge fan of the aroma. Really bland and uninteresting. Almost musty. I wasexpecting big coffee and got none at all. The flavor was just as disappointing. Definitely has some acidity to it, and the coffee was really non-existent either. Some mild roast and chocolate characters, but not much else. Below average brew. Says brewed with coffee, and if I didnt read the label, I would have guessed there was none at all.

Foam Rangers January meeting. Very dark black with a very roasted coffee nose. Flavor is dark coffee and roasted malts with a big acidity to it. Rather lackluster.

So black I can’t see through it. Thin tan head that quickly went away. Aroma is nice...roasty. Dark sweet and coffee taste. Some acidic quality to it.

Opaque black wit ha quarter-inch tan head. Dark, sweet coffee flavor and aroma. Thin in body. Not bad, but middle-of-the-road as far as coffee stouts go.
