Commercial Description:
This unique stout combines the flavor of roasted malts and Milwaukee's reknown FUEL CAFE coffee. The fine balance of mild hops, the gentle acidity of choice cofee and the sweetness of the barley makes this an unforgettable brew.

12 ounce bottle from a mixed 8 pack that was purchased at Nugget in Woodland, CA. Aroma is metallic, musty, with some light coffee aromas. Quite musty. Blegh. Mildly transparent cola-colored body with a small, weak, quickly dissipating head. Sweet, sugary malty start with lots of chocolate and a bit of coffee. Lightly ashy. Smooth-bodied. Pretty drinkable and tasty. Aroma and appearance aren’t so hot, though.

Bottle. Aroma of coffee, almost espresso. Opaque brown/black color with a beige/tan ringed head (pretty flat). Near full bodied with mild carbonation. Flavor is primarily coffee with some chocolate notes and underlying toasted malt. Finish is fairly dry, with chocolate and lots of coffee. Reasonable level of bitter.

Nice aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, milk chocolate smells good! Poured very dark brown, with a nice, large, frothy tan head that was very, very slow in receding. Lets lots of lacing. Head became a thick cream cap that never left. Beautiful looking beer! Started with a slightly sweet milk chocolate that was quickly replaced by strong black coffee, followed by dark chocolate, then nice roasted malt then back to a good strong coffee. Very nice taste, bitter is good, but not overpowering, very pleasant. If you like coffee, you will love this! Nice medium body, creamy sticky texture, slightly above average carbonation, nice dry, short bitter finish that is pleasant! While my favorite style of stouts is not the coffee style, this one is excellent! :) I really enjoyed it! I will definitely drink this again. A excellent job by Lakefront! Give it a try if you like coffee stouts! Served in a pint.

Pours a dark black with a thick chocolate milk head that dies quickly. Smells of roasted nuts, some chocolate and to my surprise just a touch of coffee. Tastes as it smells which is a big dissapointment. For a coffee stout this does not even come close to the mark. Mild flavors, minor hop bite at the end. Smooth in the mouth with some carbonation. Drinkability is high but Ive been thrown a curveball with no coffee to be found. Will not be trying this again.

Bottle: Dark brown, thin head and light lacing. The nose is vegetal with super thin roast and a bit of licorice, vague wood and coffee notes. The flavor is thin, a semi-sweet roast and dry coffee note. Like a sub-part stout infused with brewed coffee for attempted salvation.

This beer has a rather dark color and no head at all. It has a burt wood smell to it. As you drink it there is coffee and a watery finish. It has a watery and burnt chocolate finish that is rather short.

Enjoyed from a bottle. Aroma isn’t much of anything; one can smell a stoutish brew but not even clearly coffee... kind of smells rank. Nice blend after a few sips to accustom (is that a word?) your palate to the blend. Not a coffee drinker... relatively bitter in another, non hop way. Less than average.

bottle from total wine & more Tampa: black with a slight hint of amber color. Tan medium head. Strong coffee flavor, but not very complex. metallic aftertaste -- a little off on the finish. eh.
