rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Aug 1, 2007 Chocolate and alcohol aroma. Very dark amber color with some brown foam. Sweet and tangy malt flavor. No coffee flavor that I can detect, but I did just have some espresso stout home brew. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jul 30, 2007 12oz bottle from a 8pk sampler. Dark brown/black. no head. aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and alcohol. Flavor of green, unripened coffee beans. hop flavors in the finish. not overall impressed. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Jul 30, 2007 Dark brown or perhaps a light black with a thin bit of a tan head. Disappearing quickly. Roasty light old cofee, a bit sweet, a little bit low key. Flat, a bit fizzy feeling, better than too much carbonation, but okay. A bit sweet with pruney acidic malt flavors. Diacetyl runs a bit high here. A bit creamy, roasty and fruity, kind of netraul, with a lingering pruny sharpness. mistersinalin (367), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Jul 22, 2007 I like coffee and I like stout. I thought I would like this better, but it is a fair stout with the aftertase of coffee. I wonder if it has any caffiene? stison42 (318), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Jul 22, 2007 Black with no head. Very little aroma. Soday. Tastes dark and black. Slight coffeeness. Thin. Drying lingers. Had a grapey aftertaste. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Jul 18, 2007 Pours a black color with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and molasses. Aroma seems lighter then I expected. Not really very thick on the palate with the roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee up front. FInishes with the sweeter flavors of the molasses. Not really any kind of lingering flavor and is a little watery. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Jul 16, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours black with a fizzy tan head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is roasted malts and a hint of coffee. The flavor has the same roasted maltiness, but increases the coffee by a factor of ten. The mouthfeel is medium and the finish is pretty dry. I liked this one more than most on the site apparently. hopslovin (180), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jul 12, 2007 Black pour quickly vanishing tan head. This is a big disappointment. Smells musty sweetness. Mild coffee flavor. Watery finish.
