Commercial Description:
This unique stout combines the flavor of roasted malts and Milwaukee's reknown FUEL CAFE coffee. The fine balance of mild hops, the gentle acidity of choice cofee and the sweetness of the barley makes this an unforgettable brew.

This beer pours with lots of red highlights but is still quite black in the glass. A tan head lives and dies quick. A molasses aroma with anise. Flavor is similar. Chocolate shows up late and the finish is that with anise. I have fond memories of this brewery having done the wonderful brewery tour. But this beer is pedestrian. Good, but not all that good.

Wish I could try this bad boy again. I had this awhile back when I wasn’t much into coffee beers... I’m sure I’d like it more now.

Black pour with an aroma of coffee. Flavor of bitter coffee and chocolate. Not bad, not great either.

Maybe I just got sold on the packaging or the fancy name, but I expected more from this beer. Poured from a bottle into a snifter, the appears was black in color. There was not much of an aroma that I could detect, but maybe I was just expecting to get blown away with the coffee. Pretty thin body with flavor of bitter coffee and sweet chocolate for the taste. I’ll have no problem finishing the six pack I bought, but for the price I don’t think I will buy it again.

12oz bottle. Pours a black body with a thin, brown head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is sweet, buttery malts with a light amount of roasted coffees. For a coffee stout, this is pretty weak on the coffee. Some chocolate, a bit of vanilla, and a sweeter cherry aroma as well. Flavor is pretty good, but a little thin and watery. Sweet malts up front without the buttery taste from the aroma. Some chocolate covered cherries come in before a quality tasting coffee and roast finishes this off with just a touch of acidity. Dry with a sweet, roasted coffee aftertaste that lingers for a good amount of time. Overall, a well balanced, simple, and tasty coffee stout. If they worked on the aroma and it was a little fuller in body, this would easily stand out more.

(bottle). Black color. Small tan head. Light malt/coffe flavor, with light sourness. Very sour taste with light coffee. Avg duration. Slightly acidic finish. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Fair lacing. Not what I was expecting - May have been a bad bottle.

Super dark brown, bubbly light brown head. Opaque w/red at the edges, crown of brown lacing. Coffee and alcohol in the nose; oily stout malt. Good mildly toasted mocha coffee aroma. Cocoa powder, caramel, toffee, butterscotch. Tastes of raisins, plums, dates in the front; mocha, coffee in the back. Sweet overshadows the bitter; could use more balance. Oily at first, then dry/ashy. Taste doesn’t live up to aroma, but decent nonetheles.

12 oz. bottle. Pours pitch black with a small, foamy, light tan head. The head disappears almost immediately. Wood, coffee, a little old sock, roasted notes, and a touch of date in the the nose. Very interesting. Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. Bitter coffee, a sour note, raisin, and roasted notes on the palate. Somehow this one never quite comes together the right way on the tongue. Medium finish. A pretty poor nose and a palate that is mediocre at best. Not one I would recommend or have again.
