footbalm (1218), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Dec 8, 2006 Bottle from Brock Landers. Thanks John. Pours a very deep dark brown with very little head. Well there is no doubt that this is a coffee flavored stout as the aroma of coffee beans hits you right square in the nose.I liked this as after the coffee was gone there was a little bitter chocolate left on my tongue. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Nov 29, 2006 12oz bottle. Aroma: Fairly strong coffee presence, with a slight sour note. A bit of cocoa, cream, and some light spice, too. Appearance: Dark brown with small chestnut highlights when held to light. Medium tan head was full and creamy with good retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Light grainy maltiness, cold coffee, cocoa, Medium sourness, some light fruitiness. Palate: Medium-light bodied. Moderate carbonation. Overall: Not bad, but doesn’t quite pull it together. Weak mouthfeel. Sour coffee flavor that lacks richness. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Nov 29, 2006 Pours opaque black into the glass, with just ever-so-slight ruby hues around the fringe, and only when held to direct light. The initial 2-finger creamy tan head diminishes slightly, leaving slight sudsy lace. Roasts and milk chocolate to the nose, possibly some slight cherries. This is good.... The stout lacks a bit of the "sweet" notion, so some points off there, as it is drier with not as much of a "meaty" maltiness to it. Dry roasted finish with a definite java effervescence. The mouthfeel is thinner than I expected, as I’m not picking up the sticky palate other users do; however, the roasted grains get a bit stale after a bit. Not bad for a coffee-brewed stout. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. MrChris (110), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Nov 18, 2006 Sweet, definite java flavor on the nose. Pour as your classic black, brown, I can’t see through the glass stout. Medium light tan head. Coffee flavored with sweet not too syrupy ending. Frothy mouth feel. Great idea; could have been taken to excess, but stops short. NachlamSie (1630), Tennessee, USA Oct 15, 2006 Bottle. Pours quite black with a bit of red and a fast-fading tan head. The aroma has a bit of brownies, light coffee, some sour buttery notes are also noted. The flavor is fairly sour with soy sauce, and weak sweetness. I’m searching for the coffee. . . I think I found it. Maybe. The mouthfeel is fairly flat with just a light spritz on the tongue. Coffee and stout is usually such a harmonious marriage, this could’ve been so much better. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Oct 11, 2006 12oz - Aroma of late night diner coffee and roasted chocolate malt. Pours black with a big quickly dissapating brown head and good lacing. Flavor is better than aroma. Coffee is more Dunkin Donuts and malts are fuller flavored. There is some mocha creaminess too. Palate is sticky. Not bad, but nothing special. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 2, 2006 Smells like coffee. Also tastes a littlbe bit like coffee. No head, thick and icky, it actually makes my stomach sick. A very bad stout. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Sep 25, 2006 Updated: Jun 22, 2009Bottle... Dark ale with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head. Good retention. The nose is lactic (buttermilk) and chocolatey. No trace of coffee in there as I pull a whiff in. Sweet flavor with cola and chocolate. Again, no coffee. Medium-bodied with gentle carbonation. Slightly tangy, sweet finish. Thanks to headbanger for the bottle!
