2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, Idaho, USA - DEC 18, 2007
Bottle: Dark brown, thin head and light lacing. The nose is vegetal with super thin roast and a bit of licorice, vague wood and coffee notes. The flavor is thin, a semi-sweet roast and dry coffee note. Like a sub-part stout infused with brewed coffee for attempted salvation.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 emerica56 (600) - Bristol, Rhode Island, USA - DEC 9, 2007
This beer has a rather dark color and no head at all. It has a burt wood smell to it. As you drink it there is coffee and a watery finish. It has a watery and burnt chocolate finish that is rather short.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 themadmumis (347) - Westminster, Maryland, USA - DEC 8, 2007
Enjoyed from a bottle. Aroma isn’t much of anything; one can smell a stoutish brew but not even clearly coffee... kind of smells rank. Nice blend after a few sips to accustom (is that a word?) your palate to the blend. Not a coffee drinker... relatively bitter in another, non hop way. Less than average.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 darn1207 (1280) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 3, 2007
bottle from total wine & more Tampa: black with a slight hint of amber color. Tan medium head. Strong coffee flavor, but not very complex. metallic aftertaste -- a little off on the finish. eh.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 mephisto (1252) - TAIWAN - DEC 2, 2007
my nose is too stuck up to enjoy the aroma of this brew, but the flavor is creamy coffee. need to be re-rated.
2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 alexanderj (2830) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - NOV 30, 2007
Bottle; a dark color with a small, light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruit, and milk sweetness. Palate was too thin and watery. Taste was rather bland; tasted almost watered down. Coffee only barely comes through. Some chalkiness, dark fruit and chocolate as well. Not actively bad...nor good.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 LinusStick (2386) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 29, 2007
A sub par sweet stout. Aroma was weak but could pick up hints of roasted malt. Pour was bad. Flat dark brown/black with no head. Taste was weak. Lightly carbonated mix of seltzer water and coffee with a bit of chocolate. Not good.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 illinismitty (2239) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 27, 2007
Bottle from Total Wine in Naples, FL. Pours a deep brown with a dissipating beige head. Aroma of nut shells, light roast coffee, and cocoa powder. Medium bodied but similar in texture to a brown ale. Initial flavor of dark roast and coffee grounds, with a tame bitterness to balance things out. Not much sweetness, which this needs to round things out. Finish has a slight astringency and peppery bite. Too much coffee and and not enough body or sweetness for me.
