Commercial Description:
This unique stout combines the flavor of roasted malts and Milwaukee's reknown FUEL CAFE coffee. The fine balance of mild hops, the gentle acidity of choice cofee and the sweetness of the barley makes this an unforgettable brew.

Bottle. Pours a deep dark brown - very near black - with a rocky mocha head. Milky chocolate aroma with raisin notes and mild coffee roastiness - fairly green and leafy. Fairly light and thin bodied. Flavours are straightforward and relatively uninteresting - definitely lacking in forward roastiness. Evidence of sour cherries also. Bought at Bello Vino in Ann Arbor in April 2006.

Bottled December 2005. Poured a very deep iced tea brown with a short-lived cap of beige headage. Nose was of freshly-roasted coffee, citrus, and an odd sour component. Mildly-roasted coffee carried through the flavor... along with sweeter dark malts, fruity sourness, and hints of citrus. Palate was certainly on the light side... mild coffee and citrus bitters surrounding... with intermittent, odd sour notes. Coffee follow-through was quite enjoyable. Just OK overall.

Rich, deep dark color with a slight tan head. Th aroma is that of a faint weak coffee. The taste is lackking but you can pick up the coffee and slight mocha flavor. The linger is weak and I think that this is the weakest coffee stout I have tasted....good thing this is last for night and I don’t care!!!

Was expecting more from this one, Its got an interesting bitter flavor, with a strange tangy taste to it. It loks beautiful though. has a strong coffee richness. Give it a try

This beer is from a great local brewery (Lakefront) that has always put out consistently pleasent beers. The smell imitates a good stout with lots of strong bitter coffee and semi-sweet chocalate. It pours black as Denny’s coffee with a moderate crisp head that sticks around. The taste, however, sets the town for this beer, and it isnt that good. This beer is just an alien product to me that tastes like poorly spiked coffee. I’m left with a tingled mouthfeel and a bad aftertaste. Unless you like cofee/beer shooters...Pass on this one.

Black with a medium sized tan head. Pretty weak aroma of roasted coffee. Flavor is dominated by stale coffee, and is somewhat thin. A bit sour in the finish. Way too carbonated.

Bottle. Opaue deep dark brown pour, minimal head. Dry roasty malt and coffe aroma. Kinda bland roasty coffee flavors. Not my favorite. Watery and a bit mild.

Bottle (12oz). Courtesy of Ughsmash. Poured thick oily black with a decent brown head. Oily sweet roast aroma of coffee grounds, licorice, cola, prune juice - not bad, a little thin. Taste is quite bitter - burnt coffee and nuts, dark chocolate and burnt prunes - this has a long finish, bitter and a touch harsh. Flat, acidic and sticky mouthfeel - pretty thick. This isn’t a bad stout, needs to be a little better balanced - good roasty character. Thanks, Ughsmash.
