COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique stout combines the flavor of roasted malts and Milwaukee’s reknown FUEL CAFE coffee. The fine balance of mild hops, the gentle acidity of choice cofee and the sweetness of the barley makes this an unforgettable brew.

Another boring coffee beer. This one just doesn’t provide anything besides cold coffee flavor.

Into Maudite glass. Pours near-black with a 1.5" light brown head. Aroma is over-the-top coffee beans, with a bit of metal and something gnarly. Basically smells like a mug of coffee that’s been left out too long. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Flavor isn’t as bitter as you’d think from the aroma--you get yourself prepared for straight up black coffee, but it’s kept in check a bit. Suggestions of Hershey syrup at the end. This is a bit out of whack--just not up to par with my favorite stouts.

Lakefront continues to confound me. I love their IPA as one of my favorites, and their bridge burner is fabulous, but the snake chaser and now this are pretty awful in my book. It had a nice aroma, but flavor-wise I could barely drink it. Hmmm....

Bottle. Dark clear brown pour, with light tan head. Lots of coffee, dark chocolate, and slightly sweet. The coffee flavor is pretty tasty, but the mouthfeel is slightly thin. Still this is quite a nice brew if you like coffee.

Poured into a Central Waters snifter. The color could pass as a dark coffee. Very thin head that is off white and rings around the glass. Coffee aroma with a hint of dark chocolate. The flavor is very similar to the aroma. The coffee is present first, followed by a bitter chocolate taste and finishes with a coffee taste that has a slight hint of wood. This is a pretty good coffee stout and I would drink it again.

Pours darker than it settles in the glass-black with brown hues. Thin tan head that vanishes quickly. Weak aroma of coffee grain with a flavor that is almost entirely coffee-some chocolate, hints of roasted malt and barley. Decent, but far from impressive.

Deep black-brown pour with a very thick, creamy tan head. The nose has a lot of coffee aroma as well as a lot of herbal brown malt character. A little bit of vegetal but it comes across mostly like a sort of coffee soda. As it warms up the coffee opens up a bit. Fairly thin-bodied and it doesn’t really come together like I think it should.

I really like this. Not as heavy as I expected for a stout, the coffee flavour is held in check by a slight sweetness - vanilla? - that almost makes this taste like a cola when cold. But still identifiably a stout.
