This unique stout combines the flavor of roasted malts and Milwaukee’s reknown FUEL CAFE coffee. The fine balance of mild hops, the gentle acidity of choice cofee and the sweetness of the barley makes this an unforgettable brew.

Bottle (12oz). Courtesy of Ughsmash. Poured thick oily black with a decent brown head. Oily sweet roast aroma of coffee grounds, licorice, cola, prune juice - not bad, a little thin. Taste is quite bitter - burnt coffee and nuts, dark chocolate and burnt prunes - this has a long finish, bitter and a touch harsh. Flat, acidic and sticky mouthfeel - pretty thick. This isn’t a bad stout, needs to be a little better balanced - good roasty character. Thanks, Ughsmash.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2006 Pours a deep dark brown with a nice tan head. Chocolate/espresso aromas. Tastes just like it smells, deep coffee and chocolate flavors.

Cloudy dark brown gives the impression of black. Decent khaki head. Stale coffee in the aroma and the flavor is a bit on the bland side. Not much more than the stale coffee in the flavor.

Pours black, tan head that looks good then fades away quickly. The taste was acidic and sour. The roasted coffee flavor I was expecting was in the finish. Not impressed.

Pours a very dark brown, pretty much no head. Very thin and watery with a coffee aftertaste, wasn’t very sweet at all just a watery stout taste, it wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t strong enough.

Pours a hearty dark brown with tan head that lasts; slightly less than average lacing. Aroma of sweet toasted malts, coffee and something sour. Flavor is of a malted coffee, some hoppiness and an acidic bitterness on the finish.

UPDATED: APR 18, 2010 The aroma is sweet and it does have coffee and toasted malt as you might expect, but it also has a not so nice soy sauce smell. The appearance is dark brown (nearly black) and it has a typical stout head. The flavor does have coffee but it is also acidic and burnt. The palate is average and the aftertaste is bitter. Sadly it has some good stuff and some bad stuff.

Bottle pours an opaque black witha very large milk chocolate colored head. Arolmas of mainly chocolate malts and dark roasted but sweet malts. I don’t notice much coffee here yet. Slightl acidic sour porter like aroma as well. Flavor was more of the coffe I was expecting but mainly on the aftertaste. Yes, quitre thin and kind of a light weight at 4.4% and low on the unfermented sugars. Not bad. Now that I think of it the delayed aftertaste is like the combo of cigarette buts and coffee grounds. Thanks to Degarth for this one.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2006 As advertised! Looks like coffee, smells like coffee, tastes like coffee. One of the best attempts at coffee beer. However, I like my coffee light; probably would be great with creamer over ice. A little thin bodied for a stout.
