3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Has a very scrumptious aroma that smells like an iced latte (it looks like one too). The taste reminds me of a burning campfire. A little roasty, and a little sweet like burning cedar at the end. The flavor is surprisingly subtle and watery for a stout. It’s not at all creamy and doesn’t make an attempt to announce its flavor. It’s a very drinkable beer in all respects but doesn’t start a revolution.

>> Nitro foam atop a dark red pour. Toasted bread nose. Taste is green jalapeño style coffee and huge cloying sugar. Dusty finish. Hard to get through. Decent.

bottle @ John’s Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Clear dark ruby brown color, brown head cover, bands of lace. Good aroma of chocolate and malt. Taste is roasted malt that grows as it moves to a lightly bittered finish. Simple, straightforward, enjoyable.

On draught at 10th Annual North American Organic Brewers Festival. Color of cola. Aroma is coffee with cream and sugar. Taste is sweetened coffee, milk, and toasty, roasty malt. Light for a stout, but enjoy the coffee flavors.

Really wanted the coffee to come through in a powerful way, but was left disappointed. First beer from this brewery and was not overly impressed, but may try more due to the tasty labeling. One more miss though and it will be my last from this brewery.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very mild stout. The coffee is quite light, and there is not many aggressive stout flavors either. Easy and pleasant to drink, but nothing stands out too much to me.

Black pour under a thin foamy khaki head. Aroma is roasty with some earthy coffee notes, earthy bakers cocoa and a light note of earthy berry. The flavor has a nice chocolaty sweetness to it with a berry-tinged dark toast coffee flavor. Earthy sweet with nice balancing roastiness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Good coffee stout, readily available in my neighborhood. Aroma is coffee, nuts, and smoke. What you expect a coffee stout to smell like. Appearance is black and kind of bubbly, no lacing and plenty of streaming carbonation in glass. Taste is coffee, but not overly bitter, and smoky chocolate. Palate is thin, spritzy, and short lived. It’s definitely a basic Coffee Stout.
