This unique stout combines the flavor of roasted malts and Milwaukee’s reknown FUEL CAFE coffee. The fine balance of mild hops, the gentle acidity of choice cofee and the sweetness of the barley makes this an unforgettable brew.

Has a very scrumptious aroma that smells like an iced latte (it looks like one too). The taste reminds me of a burning campfire. A little roasty, and a little sweet like burning cedar at the end. The flavor is surprisingly subtle and watery for a stout. It’s not at all creamy and doesn’t make an attempt to announce its flavor. It’s a very drinkable beer in all respects but doesn’t start a revolution.

Pours into tulip glass black with a thick tan foam. Strong coffee aroma with roasted malts. Flavor is bitter with some coffee in the back. Mouthfeel is lighter than I would expect. Overall pretty decent and drinkable.

Bottle courtesy of Aunt HeyHey. Pours a deep brown body with thick brown lacing. Aroma is roast, sweet sugar and earth. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of coffee, green peppers, sweet sugar and sugary roast.

Pours dark, with no head. Smells of coffee, toasted malt. Tastes thin. Closer to a brown ale than a stout. Viewing the label I don’t see the appeal to using the term organic. It’s on the label 5 times!!

MaltOne (235) - Wisconsin, USA - DEC 28, 2014
Pours opaque coffee brown with ample pillowy brown tinged head. Aroma of coffee and moderate roasted malt, slightly sweet. Taste is like aroma... strong coffee, moderate malt. There’s a slightly odd interplay among the bitter coffee, sweet malt, and hint of hop bitter. It almost comes off as slightly sour beer, not a sweet stout. Overall, a definite homage to coffee but at the expense of the ,beer.

ARH (612) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 27, 2014
12oz bottle, poured into a shaker. The aromas of milk, coffee, nuts, and caramel blend together on the nose. It pours a dark, black-brown color with a soft, foamy tan head that retains a medium ring, fuzzy surface, and leaves a light, web lace. The taste is a medium sweet and very light bitter. The beer is smooth with a fuzzy carbonation and a medium light body. Coffee, chocolate, and caramel flavors come through with a fruity sweetness. The finish has a coffee ground / dirt or grit quality to it that sticks around shortly in the aftertaste.

chinchill (2267) - South Carolina, USA - DEC 5, 2014
12 oz bottle bottled in November 2010 and served in a pint glass (from Sept. 2011 notes). Pours opaque and nearly black with a towering head that quickly settles to a rather thin, creamy, resilient, dark tan top Aroma has coffee and dark roasted malts in about equal strengths. However, the coffee component becomes dominant in the taste and even more dominant in the aftertaste. T- As advertised, there is plenty of coffee flavor this brew. Too much black coffee in that it doesn’t allow the dark malt to shine as it should in a stout. Aftertaste of coffee with some faint roasted malt and fainter hops and smoke. More bitter and sour than sweet. M - smooth but with some hops/carbonation tingle; semi-dry finish. Near medium body.
